I grew up on a farm in Far North Queensland and had the delight in growing up surrounded by cats, dogs, chooks, goats, cows - you name it! As you can imagine this gave me loads of hands on experience with a wide range of animal needs and temperaments.
After making the mistake of not realising that pet sitters/catteries would be 'busy' over the holidays - I now know the StReSs in finding a reliable and trustworthy sitter for those times when you are called away from home. 1.Dog walking: I would love to take your pet for a walk in nearby parks, playballs, I like to teach how to sit, give it a paw... all the time your pet will be on a leash. I can only release it with your authorization in parks to carry out activities. The walk lasts on average an hour.&nbsp;&nbsp;
2.Home visit: I am very careful and attentive, your pet will receive attentionand affection during my visit. The service includes providing all your pet's needs: water, food, cleaning the environment, I can take care of medications if necessary. I am very organized and I like to keep the environment clean, as youdeserve a pleasant environment. The service lasts around an hour. I will also be happy to take care of your plantswhen you are away.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

I will be visiting Melbourne in January 2024. I'll be working in the Seddon/Footscray area, but am open to other locations as well. My dates are flexible. I'd love to do some house/pet sitting, but can also visit and/or walk your pets. I'm familiar with the house sitting process and can easily take care of your pets and home. 
I'm a high school teacher. My beloved dog, Tassie, passed away in 2019 and I'm a pretty lost without her, especially on my walks! She spent 11 short years with me before she passed on. She was little, but in her prime she went on long hikes with me.

I'm the kind of person that you want looking after your much loved pet and will do everything I need to keep them happy and safe. What I can offer:- I am an experienced dog walker and pet sitter but have only done this previously for friends and family, not through a website. Happy to provide references if you require or come by for a visit before you book me :)- I service all suburbs within 8km of Brunswick 3056. Message me if you are further away and I can confirm if it's possible.- If booked for dog walking I will only take your dog/s, I don't bundle this together with other bookings. This is so I can pay full atention to your pet at all times.- I have my own car with a dog seat and seatbelt so if you need your pet transported I can factor that into the day.- I make my own dog biscuits from coconut oil, peanut butter and pumpkin. Just add a note in your booking if you want me to bring a sample along for your pup to try!- If it's a hot day (above 26 degrees) I won't accept a booking to walk your dog unless I can do it in the early morning or late evening. This is for their safety as their paws can easily burn and some breeds are prone to heat stroke.What I can't offer:- I am unable to stay overnight as I have my own dog at home.

My father is an avid hiker and hunter, so from a young age I’ve been on mountain hikes and hunting trips with our well-trained dogs. This taught me the importance of clear communication, patience, and building trust with dogs in all environments.

My typical day with dogs includes morning walks, playtime in the backyard or local parks, feeding according to your schedule, and evening walks. I work from home with a flexible schedule, so dogs are never alone for extended periods. I provide regular photo updates and maintain open communication throughout their stay.

I adapt my approach to each dog’s temperament. High-energy dogs get extra exercise and mental stimulation through play and training games, while anxious or shy dogs receive patient, calm reassurance and a predictable routine. I read body language carefully and respect boundaries, never forcing interaction.

In emergencies, I remain calm and act quickly. I know the location of the nearest 24-hour vet clinic, keep your vet contact details accessible, and can transport dogs safely in my vehicle if needed. I’m trained in recognizing signs of distress, injury, or illness and will contact you immediately while taking appropriate action.

During walks, dogs are always on leash unless in designated off-leash areas where I’ve confirmed they have reliable recall. I’m vigilant about traffic, other dogs, and potential hazards. In off-leash parks, I maintain close supervision and intervene if play becomes too rough or if the dog shows signs of stress. 

I live in a calm, spacious house in Brunswick West with multiple rooms and a large backyard. The backyard is fully secured with locked gates and fencing around the perimeter, making it safe for dogs to play and explore off-leash. During overnight stays, I ensure all external doors remain locked, and dogs sleep indoors with access to comfortable beds in climate-controlled rooms. The backyard provides a secure space for toilet breaks and play, while indoor areas offer cozy resting spots away from any outdoor elements.
