Absolutely thrilled with Paul and his partner as our dog sitters! From the start, Paul was extremely communicative and flexible, putting our minds at ease. It was our first time leaving our dogs overnight, and we were quite anxious, but the experience turned out to be fantastic. Drop-off was seamless, and it was evident that Paul is both easy-going and knowledgeable about dog care. His place is secure, with enough room for our small dogs to go outside. We received photo updates of our pups relaxing comfortably on the couch, which reassured us that they were in great hands. Throughout the entire experience, we felt completely comfortable and confident in their care. Paul and his partner genuinely love all animals and provided the best care for our puppies. We returned home with happy puppies, and we will definitely be using their services again. Highly recommend Paul and his partner for anyone in need of reliable and caring dog sitters!

We were a week out from leaving on an interstate family holiday when our dog sitter (my parents) announced they were off to NZ the same time we would be away….they’d completely forgotten Mochi, our large exuberant Harrier Hound, was going to stay with them while we were away. Enter Pawshake. Dale was the first and only person we contacted - obviously time was a factor in our case, and her responsiveness, prices, easy going nature, and the fact she knew what she was talking about (plus she said nice things about our doggie!), meant we didn’t need to contact anyone else. (We looked at a few profiles on Pawshake and the number of people, young people, saying they could handle large excitable dogs in their one bedroom “insert trendy inner suburb here” apartment was laughable). Mochi isn’t yet 2 years old and he’s huge (40 kg and my height -165cm when he stands up on two legs), he is a hound, bred to think a certain way (which is often “I’m doing what I want regardless) and on top of all of this, Mochi just wants to be loved and be around you. He needs someone who is going to give him all the love in the world while not being a pushover. Dale knew how to respond and interact with Mochi from the start. He came back to us happy, healthy and very tired (we struggle to tire him out so this was brilliant). Dale has the space, set up, location and knowledge for you to be able to leave your pet with her and not be worried about whether or not you made the right dog sitter decision. She updated us daily with photos of Mochi- it was so heartwarming to see Mochi wasn’t just another dog at their house; he was very much a part of their family and in the mix of it all for the 6 days he was with them. We will not hesitate to book Dale again. Thank you so much for taking care of our boy!

Frequently asked questions

Your dog boarding questions answered

What are home dog boarding services?

With home dog boarding, your dog stays overnight at a sitter’s home. Instead of being in a crowded dog kennel or dog hotel, your dog can be in a comfortable home and receive the same quality level of love and care you would provide.

Who's boarding my dog?

Pawshake only accepts sitters who have experience and/or qualifications caring for pets. You will get to search, choose and have a free meet and greet with your sitter prior to making a booking.

Where will my dog be staying?

Your dog will be staying at the sitter's home. Be sure to discuss any requirements with your sitter prior to booking. The more your sitter knows about your pet, the better! That way they can really ensure that your pet has the best and most comfortable stay.

How do I choose a sitter?

Visit the sitter's profile and read about their background, home and experience. Then request a free meet and greet. If you are happy with the sitter’s dog boarding environment and how well they bond with your dog, confirm your booking on Pawshake.
