I'm a 21 year old that wants to get into the animal industry and this is how im getting heaps of experienc. I've been house and pet sitting for years. I work in a kennels and Cattery. I have my certificate in animal studies. I also have 4 dogs (8 year old Kelpie, 2 year old Kelpie, 6 year old whippet, 11 year old greyhound), fish and pigeons. I'll look after your pet like it's my own. I have experience with all different animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs, birds, cows, goats, sheep, lizards, snakes) plus more. I don't do pet sitting in my own home but I love coming to your home and looking after your pets so they are in their own environment and can feel a bit more comfortable and safe. I take my time and make sure your pet feels comfy with me around. I'm excited to look after your pets whether it's a walk or   house visit or staying overnight with them to keep the company. I have been Housesitting with my partner in Melbourne fulltime since July, 2023. We have done housesits or different time durations, sometimes 1 month, sometimes 1 week or even 1 day, and different suburbs all across Melbourne. We mainly took care of dogs: puppys, younger energetic doggies, old quiet dogs, some more reactive, nervous or fearful dogs! Some of them required medicines or a certain way of training, with treats or toys, so we are used to dealing with different personalities of the furry ones! We have had many border collies, a kelpie, labradors and retrievers, but also smaller dogs like a King Chevalier, a Malteese, or a dachshund... But we also took care of two rabbits and many cats so far. As our experience shows, we are used to dealing with different environments and older animals as well as puppies, either in apartments or houses, since our love for animals makes us adapt to the different personalities they might present and to the various needs they require.


My name is Richard. I am married with two older daughters. Our family loves animals. We currently have two dogs, Rosie and Jessie. Two cats, Smokey and Patch. One rabbit, Buttons. We have had chickens, lizards and rats before.Whenever we went away as a family, it was so important to us to find someone we could trust to look after our pets who are a part of our family.Whilst I do not have experience looking after other people's animals, I have direct experience looking after my own animals for close to 40 years and I know that every animal is different and have their own quirks. We currently have a rescue dog (Jessie) and she is extremely anxious and nervous around people she does not know, so I have to support her differently.&nbsp;I am available to visit your house and can be flexible to work with you around keeping feeding and walking routines consistent. I will work with you to plan this out during the initial free intro meeting and if for any reason I can't support work your requirements, I will let you know up front.&nbsp; I realise it is very important that your furry friends feel like their lives and habits are the same.If you need an in-house sitter, I can definitely work with you to look at what your requirements are and put a plan in place, so you feel comfortable.Unfortunately, I do not offer the ability to house your furry family at my place, as Jessie finds it difficult with other animals.&nbsp;I now have more time on my hands and want to give that trust back, so you can go away and feel relaxed that your family of pets are being looked after and you are not stressed about their welfare or whether they are anxious.I will look after your furry friends, like I look after my own. You can relax knowing they are being loved and care for. And importantly you can enjoy that holiday or other important event.

I love the outdoors and am an amateur surfer, rock climber, snowboarder and just about anything that will take me outside and into nature. 
the way I work: 
As the owner of two kelpies I know how important those daily walks are for your lil buddy. 
It's super important to me that we have an original consultation (free) to reach a point of absolute clarity of what it is you expect from the hour me and your dog will spend together. 
Eg. do they need to do some running? Do they need to take it easy? Do they need breaks? Do they require any special treatment? Do the walks need to be around your area or would you prefer that they are a little further from home for something new? 
I take and send you photos of our walks as I know how much we all love to check in on how our dogos are going.

Prices:
Walks are $25 for one hour with one dog 
And an extra $10 if you have a second dog that will be joining us on the walk
