I am an animal lover who is absolutely dog obsessed; I am the type of person that needs to say hi and pat all of the dogs I pass by on the street. 
Since a young age I have always had a dog and other pets in my life before moving to Australia and since I unfortunately don't have any pets of my own at this moment I love to spend time with other people's pets. 
Despite being new to Pawshake I have been pet sitting and dog walking for over 8 years. With all of this experience I have gained the skills to adapt to each animals individual needs to ensure that they feel safe and loved during their times with me. 
I'm also a very active person and like to keep fit so I love having some company on my walks. 
I have moved to Canberra about 8 months ago for a change of scenery and at this stage I am offering pet sitting in the pet's home, dog walking and daily home visits to keep your pets happy while you're away. I know how hard it is to go away without your pets so I always make sure to update owners with pics of their happy fur friend while they're in my care.

Monique has been surrounded by dogs her entire life and brings years of hands-on experience caring for a wide range of breeds and temperaments. While she serves full-time in Defence, Laxman is an engineer who works from home, ensuring your dog enjoys constant companionship and is never left unattended. Your pet will always have someone nearby, receiving the attention, care, and affection they deserve.

We’ve cared for dogs at every stage of life—from energetic puppies to senior companions needing extra support. Through our experience working alongside certified trainers, we’ve also developed strong skills in handling different behaviours and personalities.

A Routine That Feels Like Home:
We understand how important consistency is, so we closely follow your instructions to maintain your dog’s usual routine.

A typical day includes:
Morning: A refreshing walk through the open green spaces of Woden
Daytime: Relaxed indoor time with Laxman, including mental stimulation and plenty of companionship
Afternoon/Evening: Another walk or a park visit to burn off energy, followed by a calm evening
Owner-led care: Whether it’s feeding schedules, medication, or specific preferences—we stick to what works for your dog

Our home:

We live in a secure, escape-proof apartment in the heart of Woden. As we don’t currently have pets of our own, your dog will have our full attention—enjoying a private, safe environment where they can truly feel at home.



We’d love to welcome your furry friend into our home and care for them as if they were our own.

We are a family of five - mum (33) and dad (38) with three young boys aged between 5 months to 5 years old. I (mum) am a public servant and my husband is an exercise physiologist. We are a very active family. My husband is a competitive triathle and I'm a competitive hockey player.&nbsp;
We had a beautiful German shorthaired pointer, Ryder, for 6.5 years after rescuing him at 1.5, but devastatingly, he very suddenly passed away after complications from surgery. We are not ready yet to get a new dog but certainly miss having a dog at home as we have always had a dog growing up and while adults too so thought pet sitting could be a great option to give other dogs lots of love when their family are away, until we are ready for another dog ourselves. I am currently on maternity leave so home more often at the moment too. My husband works from home one day a week too and I have flexibility to work from home when I return to work.&nbsp;
We have a big backyard perfect for throwing the ball and love taking dogs for walks/runs. We have a dog off-lead area about 200m away as well at Mt Taylor to walk on and several ovals close by to throw the ball. While we don't have official pet sitting experience, we look after my mums dog regularly (golden retriever) and neighbours dogs as needed too. Any guest dog would have to be used to being around young children.&nbsp;
We offer dog boarding, dog daycare and dog walks. We have experience in administering oral medication to dogs. We would board a maximum of two dogs at one time. We walk the dog for a minimum of 30-60 minutes each day, sometimes longer. Usually only once a day but can be negotiable if needs more than that. Guest pets can sleep indoors or outdoors.
