Sometimes life can get really busy and you might find yourself a little short on time to walk your dog. Luckily with Pawshake, it is really easy to connect with thousands of pet lovers and find a walker in McKellar ACT who is available and waiting to help you out.

All of our walkers are vetted individually and every dog walker booking is covered by The Pawshake Guarantee so you can rest easy while they spend time with your dog. Additionally, your Pawshake walker will be from your local McKellar ACT neighbourhood and their profile also includes reviews from other pet parents.

Having a dog walker visit during the day is an affordable and great way to break up the day and make your dog’s day more interesting. Some of our walkers walk multiple dogs at once so this service is a great way for your dog to socialise and meet other similar dogs. However, if your dog prefers to be walked alone, you can also find McKellar ACT dog walkers who only walk one dog at a time. That way, the walks can be completely dedicated to what your dogs want – whether is a slow walk-and-sniff or a faster paced brisk walk around the block, our Pawshake dog walkers will be happy to oblige.

My name is Lauren, and while I am a new Pawshake sitter, I've been surrounded by pets my entire life. I have two beautiful dogs of my own, and they are a huge part of my life.
I grew up in a household with 2 dogs, 3 cats, 7 rabbits, 2 guinea pigs, 2 birds, 2 mice, and many fish! So it's safe to say I am comfortable and experienced looking after all creatures, great and small.
I deeply understand that our pets are apart of our family and leaving them home alone can be a difficult decision. It's important that you have someone you can trust in the privacy of your own home, and to care for your littlest loves.
I am available for day visits and dog walking in Canberra and surrounds, and would love the opportunity to look after your pets so you can relax with the peace of mind they are in safe hands. I will provide your pets with all the care they need including food, water, medication, cuddles, play/enrichment time, and I will clean up any accidents to ensure you come home to a clean and tidy house and a happy pet.
I have over 10 years of experience caring for elderly dogs or those who require regular medication (including all the tips and tricks for those pets who need to be tricked into taking their medicine!). I have adopted multiple rescue dogs in my life and have a soft spot for giving them a second chance at life.
Every pet is different and so is their required care. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your pet and look after them so you can enjoy your home away from home.

Hi there! My name's Eleanor, I'm a paramedic in Canberra and love caring for animals in my spare time.
After using Pawshake services a few times for my little kitten Arlo, I want to do the same to help others out too :)
As a client of Pawshake, I am aware of what is expected of pet-sitters with regards to the specific needs of the pet, as well as regular communication and photo updates with its owner/pet parent to reduce any worry.
My motivation to become a petsitter is honestly to spend more time with beautiful animals. They make me so happy and relaxed, and caring for them makes me feel so fulfilled. I regularly donate to RSCPA to help support their work, so I decided I also wanted to give my time to help support others in caring for their pets too.
I have grown up with cats, guinea pigs, fish and mice, and had a dog as a child.
I'm happy to provide home visits for all kinds of pet care and dog-walking, and have experience ensuring pets are given any medication they need. I appreciate a clean home for a pet and am happy to do litter changes or anything else needed. I am very cautious and advocate for animals' needs and would be certain to ensure they get any emergency care they need if something comes up too.
I also have Pet First Aid Certificate from the Australian Red Cross :)

Hi there, my name is Emma. I am a 30 year old lawyer and I am a huge dog lover! My family has owned standard size sausage dogs all my life, and I have owned two beautiful, cream coloured mininature long-haired sausage dogs of my own as an adult. My dog, Tully, is 11 years old and she would much rather sit on the couch and nap in the sun than go for a walk, but I am a huge fan of walking and being outdoors so I would love to walk other dogs. I have experience dog sitting and walking a variety of dog breeds for friends and family. This includes smaller dogs (mostly dachshunds) as well as some bigger dogs like keeshonds and labradors. I work from both the office and sometimes work from home so am available on weekends, mornings, evenings and lunch time (depending on the day). My services include dog walking and house visits to feed/check up on dogs (up to 30 mins, can include watering plants etc). I am looking forward to hearing from you and walking and looking after your beautiful pups!

Hey, my name is Chelsea and I love all animals but most of all dogs. I have previous experience in looking after and walking friends and family's dogs of all sizes and breeds. I also completed work experience during high school at a pet boarding facility which I enjoyed so much. At this work experience I had to clean, feed, walk, play and hangout all different sizes and breeds of dogs which I am happy to do for your pets as well! I also own a dog myself and she is like my best friend but I will also treat you dog/pets as another one of my best friends! My favourite thing abouts dogs is the connection you have and can build with them as they are truly meaningful and bring me so much joy. As for my types of dogs I will take on I am very happy to all sizes and breeds but I would love a kind dog who is not aggressive towards me.

Hi there! My name is Adarsh, and I am a local student here in Lawson with a deep passion for animal care. Currently, I am studying a Diploma of Community Services, which has instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility, patience, and a genuine desire to support those in my community—whether they have two legs or four! My motivation for becoming a pet sitter is simple: I understand that pets are cherished family members, and their well-being is paramount. I want to offer pet owners in our area the peace of mind that their companions are being looked after by someone who is not only reliable and punctual but also deeply caring. I take great pride in being organized and trustworthy, ensuring that every pet I look after receives attentive care, plenty of enrichment, and lots of love. While I am building my experience, I am confident in my ability to follow specific care routines, handle different temperaments, and provide a safe, nurturing environment for your pet. Whether it’s a refreshing walk, dedicated playtime, or simply checking in on them while you are away, I am committed to treating your pet with the same kindness I would my own.Regarding my home environment, I prioritize safety and health for all pets. To ensure a comfortable experience, I only accept pets that are up-to-date with their vaccinations. I am more than happy to arrange a "meet and greet" before any booking so we can make sure your pet feels completely at ease with me. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend soon!

Hi there! I’m a dedicated animal lover with a passion for caring for pets as if they were my own. Growing up with animals, I’ve always felt a strong bond with pets of all shapes and sizes. My experience ranges from cats and dogs to smaller animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, mice), and I understand the importance of creating a safe, comfortable environment for each pet that I interact with. I’m patient, punctual, attentive, and highly reliable, ensuring that your pet receives plenty of affection, exercise, and stimulation. My motivation for pet sitting and walking goes beyond just a love for animals. I understand how stressful it can be for pet owners to leave their furry family members behind, so my goal is to provide peace of mind, knowing your pets are well cared for. I treat every pet with individual attention and am always mindful of their specific needs. My goal is to ensure a healthy environment where pets can socialize and relax without worry. I can’t wait to welcome your pet and give them a loving, safe experience while you’re away. When are you usually available? I am quite flexible and can be available mornings, afternoon and evening. If you offer home visits: how long will you stay with pets during home visits? I will stay with them for however long is needed for a visit, each individual need will be discussed. Will you be able to water plants and bring in the mail? I am happy to do these. How long are your dog walks? Where do go for a dog walk? Happy to discuss this to suit your dog as well, can go for as short or as long as needed (within reason). I will go around the pickup location (your house), low traffic urban paths, nature walks, parks etc.How long can you stay in the owner's home during house sitting? Can stay at maximum for the day and possibly overnight (leaving the next morning), but can discuss the details on a case by case basis. What home security measures will you take during house sitting?Any concerns will be discussed, happy to adjust to the owner's preference.
