Having always grown up with animals around in my family, and an (unrealised) childhood dream of becoming a vet, I love any opportunity to care for pets. While I don’t have one myself at the moment, I come from a family of both dog and cat lovers (you don’t have to love only one of them!) and have experience training my family dog up from a young kelpie puppy to a well-trained adult dog. 
Overall, I have plenty experience caring for and walking dogs, although I have minimal experience doing this as a ‘job’. As I don't have a dog right now, due to living arrangements, I would love the chance to walk and care for other dogs.
I'm flexible for timings across Friday-Sunday, am a reliable, kind and caring person to all pets alike, and am adaptable to whatever care needs your dog requires.

Afternoon/Evening: Another walk or a park visit to burn off energy, followed by a calm evening
Owner-led care: Whether it’s feeding schedules, medication, or specific preferences—we stick to what works for your dog

Our home:

We live in a secure, escape-proof apartment in the heart of Woden. As we don’t currently have pets of our own, your dog will have our full attention—enjoying a private, safe environment where they can truly feel at home.

Hi I'm Alexandra! I'm originally from Melbourne and am currently studying law and commerce at ANU. I have spent my entire life surrounding by animals, especially dogs, chickens and horses. I have experience looking after dogs, chickens, cats and horses of family and friends when they have been away. However, most of my experience comes from my responsibilities at home. I have grown up on acreage and care for 5 horses and a dog at home. I absolutely adore my pets and love to spoil them with treats and cuddles. I would bring the same level of care to looking after your pets as I do to my own animals - I know what it's like to be the owner stressing about your pet while you're away! 
I would love to join your dog in discovering new areas and walking routes around your home to keep them interested and happy on their dog walks. I know every dog has different energy levels and so I am always happy to discuss how long your dog wants to walk for whether this is 30 minutes or an hour. 
When pet sitting I would give them the same love and attention as I would my own pets. I'm not the kind a person who simply feeds the dogs and then ignores them. I love giving them pats and cuddles as much as they love receiving them! I have handled shy dogs and boisterous ones and I know that they often need different levels of care and attention depending on their personalities. I would love to get to know them before my first session in order to give them the best care possible. Plus I'm always happy to send pictures and updates to keep your mind as ease while you are away!

I am an animal lover who is absolutely dog obsessed; I am the type of person that needs to say hi and pat all of the dogs I pass by on the street. 
Since a young age I have always had a dog and other pets in my life before moving to Australia and since I unfortunately don't have any pets of my own at this moment I love to spend time with other people's pets. 
Despite being new to Pawshake I have been pet sitting and dog walking for over 8 years. With all of this experience I have gained the skills to adapt to each animals individual needs to ensure that they feel safe and loved during their times with me. 
I'm also a very active person and like to keep fit so I love having some company on my walks. 
I have moved to Canberra about 8 months ago for a change of scenery and at this stage I am offering pet sitting in the pet's home, dog walking and daily home visits to keep your pets happy while you're away. I know how hard it is to go away without your pets so I always make sure to update owners with pics of their happy fur friend while they're in my care.

We’re a couple who truly love dogs and share our home with Milo, our very friendly 4-year-old dachshund. Milo is very social and enjoys having dog friends around, so visiting dogs usually settle in quickly with him.

One of us works mornings and the other afternoons, so your dog would rarely be alone for more than about an hour. Most of the time they’ll have company from us or from Milo, and we make sure they feel safe, relaxed and part of the home.

We treat our dog as a real member of the family, not just a pet, and we would care for your dog the same way. We know how hard it can be to leave them when you travel, so our goal is to give them a calm, loving place where they feel comfortable.

When a new dog arrives, we take time to introduce them slowly to Milo and allow them to explore the apartment at their own pace. We can provide daily walks, playtime, feeding routines, and lots of attention and cuddles. We’re also happy to follow any specific routines your dog is used to.

We live in a carpeted apartment, so we can only host small, well-trained dogs that are toilet trained and comfortable in an apartment environment.

Hi, I’m Abby, a devoted cat mum based in Canberra! Caring for animals has always been a big part of my life, and pet sitting allows me to stay connected to the companionship and joy that pets bring. Since moving away from my family home, I’ve really missed having multiple pets around, which is why I’m excited to offer reliable and loving care to others.
I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats and have experience pet sitting for friends and family. I’m comfortable with a range of temperaments and routines, from energetic dogs who love long walks to more independent or shy cats who need gentle, patient care. My dog walks typically range from 30–60 minutes, tailored to your pet’s needs, and I always ensure they get both exercise and enrichment.
During home visits or house sitting, I follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding, playtime, litter or yard care, and plenty of affection. I love the outdoors, running, hiking, reading and being around or in water! but I love animals a lot more! Since childhood all I've ever known is being surrounded by animals! From day old puppies too senior dogs Ive always enjoyed having pets around and being in the company of animals. I always had 4 or more dogs running around so when I left home it was very odd! I moved to wales In 2021 and became a pet sitter along side my full time job as an Outdoor Instructor. This way I could still be around animals and help people out at the same time too! 
Back in the UK, I house &amp; pet sat many different times for many different people! I built a good repor with the owners and of course the pets too! I had some people who were returning owners which meant their animals had a familiar face they knew when their owners weren't around. I loved doing this for people, so wanted to see if I could do it over here too! No floof too big or too small! I'd be Adhering to all the owners wishes - on a leash/off a leash, long walks for the more energetic dog and shorter walks for the more senior of floofs, medication and feeding times etc.
