Hi, we’re Monique and Laxman—passionate dog lovers dedicated to providing a premium “home away from home” for your pet.

Monique has been surrounded by dogs her entire life and brings years of hands-on experience caring for a wide range of breeds and temperaments. While she serves full-time in Defence, Laxman is an engineer who works from home, ensuring your dog enjoys constant companionship and is never left unattended. Your pet will always have someone nearby, receiving the attention, care, and affection they deserve.


Experienced, Thoughtful Care:
We’ve cared for dogs at every stage of life—from energetic puppies to senior companions needing extra support. Through our experience working alongside certified trainers, we’ve also developed strong skills in handling different behaviours and personalities.

A Routine That Feels Like Home:
We understand how important consistency is, so we closely follow your instructions to maintain your dog’s usual routine.

A typical day includes:
Morning: A refreshing walk through the open green spaces of Woden
Daytime: Relaxed indoor time with Laxman, including mental stimulation and plenty of companionship
Afternoon/Evening: Another walk or a park visit to burn off energy, followed by a calm evening
Owner-led care: Whether it’s feeding schedules, medication, or specific preferences—we stick to what works for your dog

Our home:

We live in a secure, escape-proof apartment in the heart of Woden. As we don’t currently have pets of our own, your dog will have our full attention—enjoying a private, safe environment where they can truly feel at home.



We’d love to welcome your furry friend into our home and care for them as if they were our own.

I am an animal lover who is absolutely dog obsessed; I am the type of person that needs to say hi and pat all of the dogs I pass by on the street. 
Since a young age I have always had a dog and other pets in my life before moving to Australia and since I unfortunately don't have any pets of my own at this moment I love to spend time with other people's pets. 
Despite being new to Pawshake I have been pet sitting and dog walking for over 8 years. With all of this experience I have gained the skills to adapt to each animals individual needs to ensure that they feel safe and loved during their times with me. 
I'm also a very active person and like to keep fit so I love having some company on my walks. 
I have moved to Canberra about 8 months ago for a change of scenery and at this stage I am offering pet sitting in the pet's home, dog walking and daily home visits to keep your pets happy while you're away. I know how hard it is to go away without your pets so I always make sure to update owners with pics of their happy fur friend while they're in my care.

We’re a couple who truly love dogs and share our home with Milo, our very friendly 4-year-old dachshund. Milo is very social and enjoys having dog friends around, so visiting dogs usually settle in quickly with him.

One of us works mornings and the other afternoons, so your dog would rarely be alone for more than about an hour. Most of the time they’ll have company from us or from Milo, and we make sure they feel safe, relaxed and part of the home.

We treat our dog as a real member of the family, not just a pet, and we would care for your dog the same way. We know how hard it can be to leave them when you travel, so our goal is to give them a calm, loving place where they feel comfortable.

When a new dog arrives, we take time to introduce them slowly to Milo and allow them to explore the apartment at their own pace. We can provide daily walks, playtime, feeding routines, and lots of attention and cuddles. We’re also happy to follow any specific routines your dog is used to.

We live in a carpeted apartment, so we can only host small, well-trained dogs that are toilet trained and comfortable in an apartment environment.
