I’m an avid animal lover, and my life reflects that in just about every way. I currently work at a Petstore, where I help pet parents choose the right food, enrichment, and essentials for their furry family members. Through this work, I’ve gained an understanding of animal behaviour, body language, and day to day needs.

I also work in the dog daycare, where I care for groups of up to 12 dogs at a time. This has taught me how to confidently handle all kinds of personalities from excitable puppies to gentle seniors. In addition, I assist in our cat adoption area; my daily tasks include feeding, cleaning enclosures, socialising the cats, and even taking the more adventurous ones for a walk.

My Cat Shelter Experience

Over the summer, I volunteered at a cat shelter out in Coldstream , which was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. I cared for cats of all ages, from timid kittens to older residents with special quirks and needs. This role taught me a great deal about patience, trust building, and providing calm, consistent care, these skills that I bring to every pet I look after.

My Pets & Personal Experience

At home, I have both a cat and an elderly poodle (12 years old). She enjoys two walks a day and requires specially prepared meals due to her sensitive stomach, so I’m very familiar with pets who have higher or more specific needs.

I also have previous pet-sitting experience for friends, including caring for two very vocal, high-energy cats—one of whom had recently experienced a urinary tract issue. During my stay, I administered medication twice daily, so I’m comfortable and capable when it comes to handling special diets, medication routines, and fussy or anxious cats.

I treat every animal as if they were my own with patience, respect, and lots of love. Whether your pet needs playtime, quiet company, a structured routine or extra medical attention, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away.
