About Hannah
Hi there!
My name is Hannah and I am an animal lover- so much so I made a career out of it!
You can rest easy knowing your fury best friend is in very safe, experienced and loving hands.
During my early twenties, while at uni, I started working as a veterinary nurse in a small animal clinic in Glen Iris, Melbourne. I stayed in the role for approximately 7 years which eventuated into managing the practice. This opened my eyes to the animal health and welfare industry and I never looked back.
As much as I adored the role, I wanted to expand my skills.
I moved on to working as a guide dog nurse for Guide Dogs Victoria.I cared for both the guide dogs in training as well as the new born puppies in the nursery.
I am currently employed with a lead animal welfare organisation where I work in a very specialised role that is deidcated to preventing animal cruelty. I am responsible for assessing the welfare of animals on a daily basis, and making appropraite decisions to ensure their best interest.
In my spare time I volunteer with the Lort Smith Animal Hospital as a Pet therapy Volunteer with my Great Dane Bert. He brings a smile to many peoples faces- it warms my heart.
As you may be able to tell, I just adore all animals!
I am an expected mumma to be (to a human baby) which means a break from my 9-5 job. Pawshake gives me a unqiue opportunity to work flexible hours and stay in close contact with the thing I value most- ANIMALS.
What I can offer:
-dog walks (on or off lead, depending on your preference. I have undertaken a number of dog handling courses throughout my career, and am very confident walking any breed, shape or size. I can even assist with helping your dog walk on a lead without pulling).
-daily visits. If you are away for a period of time I can come past to check on your fur baby, feed, water and give them plenty of cuddles.
-24 hour care. I am currently working from home which provides great flexibility. if you feel more comfortable providing your fury friend with 24 hour care while you are away I can accommodate this. This means I would stay in your home with your pet while you are away. It would also mean less stress on your baby as they would be in the comfort of their own home. This can significantly reduce anxiety.
Of course meet and greets are a must for me! This is to ensure you feel comfortable and I get to know your pet and build trust with them before you leave.
Fortunately I have experience with all species of fury baby - so there is no challenge too great!!!
Cats/dog/kittens/puppies/birds/ferrets/rabbits/[link hidden] -you name it, I can help :)
I am also skilled in administering medication, so if your baby is a senior citizens, or just on regular medication that is no trouble at all. I am confident in administration of oral medication to cats and dogs, as well as injectable medication (eg insulin for those diabetic pets).
I'd love to assist you with your pet- and ofcourse give you any extra tips/tricks or pointers along the way. I am confident in recognition of stress, anxiety, sickness or injury in animals so you can feel confident that your pet is in safe hands.
Look forward to hearing from you and meeting your beautiful fury (or feathery/scaley) friend!!!!!!
Much love- Hannah
