About Amanda

Anyone who knows me, knows too well that I am a huge animal lover! Especially when it comes to dogs! I was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia and throughout my whole life I have only ever lived with pets (3 dogs currently - last photo). After moving down to Australia for University to study Interior Architecture it was a bit of a struggle adjusting to the idea of not having a pet as company. I currently live in a small yet very cosy home in Melbourne with a small courtyard which gives pets free roam when they are in need of a little bit of Vitamin D as well as Princess Park being just across the road for a more scenic walk.

My biggest motivation to start pet sitting on Pawshake is because of the fact that I just truly miss being around loving animals and being amongst their company. I feel like I truly thrive best around animals as I have developed a strong connection towards them since I was child, so much so that I tried teaching my first dog (Anzac) how to read (photo above). On top of that I have rescued multiple stray animals off the streets whilst traveling, and back in Indonesia. Most recently a couple of friends and myself rescued an injured puppy (Jeffree) found in the gutter on the side of the road in Bali, we proceeded to raise money for Jeffree's treatment as he was diagnosed with a broken leg and donated the extra money to Bali lost dog shelters and the vet that helped us out. On top of that me and my family back in Jakarta, Indonesian have taken in multiple stray dogs as our own. As you can probably tell, animals have a very strong and close place to my heart and yours will be no exception!

In a nutshell, you can rest assured that your furry friend will be loved and cared for very well. I can also guarantee that once they leave me they will most definitely be missed!
