About Jess
I love all creatures big and small. Animal welfare, animal behaviour and wildlife conservation are my passion.
I am a third year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student at the University of Melbourne.
I have a Bachelor of Science, Honours in animal biology with specialisation in genetics, nutrition and behaviour. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ PERSONALISED PET CARE:
• We can design a plan catered specially to your dog, cat or exotic’s needs. This can be discussed during a free meet and greet.
• I am more than happy to send daily updates of your pets with pictures and videos. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ WALKING (approx.1 hour):
• Walks around the block, or to the local dog park to play fetch and socialise with other furry friends. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ HOME VISITS (approx.1 hour):
• Company and in-house play sessions can be organised for elderly, special needs or socially anxious pets.
• Kitty litter and toilet accidents will be cleaned each visit.
• Capable of administering veterinary prescribed diets and medications. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ PET & HOUSE SITTING:
• I can day/night sit for short/extended periods.
• Depending on your pets requirements, I can visit the home 1 or 2+ times a day or stay with them 24/7. Walks are included.
• I will only take on one household at a time, so you can be sure that your pets get the individual attention you expect.
• Kitty litter is changed, plant watering, mail collection, dishes, laundry, garbage and recycling can be taken out on designated days.
• I am clean, respectful, organised and a non-smoker. I will leave your house in the tidy order I found it in.
• Full Australian drivers licence, equipped with doggy seat belts.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________ ANIMAL WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Worked at multiple veterinary clinics as an assistant.
• Volunteered 3+ years at RSPCA, wildlife sanctuaries and animal rehabilitation charities in Canada, Thailand and across Victoria.
• Experience with special needs pets and handling of medications and special diets. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ PET PARENT EXPERIENCE:
Currently, proud co-parent of:
• Terry the adopted domestic shorthair tabby cat (devilishly confident and curious).
• Walter the Cavoodle (sheepish, yet people loving). I am currently working with Walter on his recent diagnosis and treatment of generalised anxiety, separation anxiety and mild territorial aggression.
• In my past, I have adopted and rescued Kiki the ferret, Hasenfeffer the French Lop rabbit, a family of dwarf rabbits, Franz the guinea pig, Hiss the ball python and a variety of fresh water fish.
