Hi! I’m Hema, a genuine animal lover based in Brisbane. I’ve always loved caring for animals and have hands-on experience looking after cats and dogs, as well as caring for my own two cats, Beans and Jelly. I understand that every pet has a different personality and that good care means adapting to what makes each animal feel safe and comfortable.

I’ve cared for pets with different temperaments, including playful and energetic pets, independent pets and shy or nervous animals who need extra patience. When meeting a nervous pet for the first time, I don’t force interaction. I give them space, use a calm voice and let them approach me when they’re ready. I find that allowing pets to build trust at their own pace makes a big difference.

I’m also comfortable managing unexpected behaviours such as excessive barking, hiding, jumping, rough play or pets becoming unsettled when their owners are away. I use calm redirection and positive reinforcement rather than punishment, while following the owner’s preferred approach and any existing training routines.

For 30-minute home visits, I can provide feeding, fresh water, playtime, cuddles, litter cleaning/checks, yard checks and general company. I can also take dogs for walks where appropriate, following their normal walking routine and energy level.

For overnight sitting, I’ll stay in your home and keep your pets’ usual routine as consistent as possible. I aim to keep alone time to around 3–4 hours at a time, depending on my schedule and your pets’ needs. I’m comfortable caring for multiple pets and following individual feeding, medication, walking and care instructions.

Before a booking, I’m happy to arrange a meet-and-greet so we can go through your pet’s routine, personality, likes and dislikes, house rules and emergency contacts. This also gives your pet a chance to meet me in their own environment before I care for them.

If anything unexpected happens, I’ll contact you promptly and follow your emergency instructions, including contacting your nominated vet if necessary. My goal is for your pets to feel safe, settled and genuinely cared for while you’re away.
