About Troy
Hi, I'm Troy.
I've had the pleasure of being part of the Pawshake family
since 2016. In recent years however I have had a hiatus from pet sitting as we
adopted our own beloved doggie who was not always well suited with other dogs.
Sadly, he passed away in early 2025 aged 13.
At the end of 2025, my wife Jess and I decided to get a new
puppy, a toy Cavoodle named Leo who was born in September 2025. He is great fun,
full of life and is really enjoying exploring the world. He loves meeting people
and dogs. Being a pup though, he has a quite a bit of energy, especially upon
first meetings. He is developing well and is starting to get to the age where both
he, and hopefully your own doggy, would enjoy each other’s company. Of course,
we also recognise that staying with a young pup won’t suit all dogs and so we
understand if this doesn’t suit your circumstances.
We are passionate about doggies of all shapes and sizes. To
us, they are such wonderful companions that we couldn't imagine life without
them. Given the size of our pup though, our preference is to care for small to
medium dogs at present, at least until our boy has matured.
We are flexible to different lengths of care, from days to
weeks. Regardless of the length of stay, we will keep you informed about how
your pet is going, including photos of course.
We live in a townhouse in Maribyrnong and have a small
courtyard with a paved area and a small garden. We also have a medium doggie
door that enables doggies to move freely from the house to the outside area and
vice versa.
We have about 10 years of experience in dog minding at our
home and have had more than 100 dogs, with many becoming regulars after we've
formed a bond together.
We typically walk all the dogs that are with us both morning
and night (unless it's not suitable for a given dog) so they get lots of
outside exposure.
They are treated as members of the family and are welcome to
sleep in the beds their owners provide or on the couch or other similarly
comfortable places :)
I work full time, while my wife works from home part of the
time. I'm an early riser and quite a late sleeper so there's plenty of time for
interaction.
We look forward to meeting you and your beloved dog(s).
