About Stephanie
Hi, I’m Steph! An experienced house sitter and pet sitter with over 8 years of professional experience in vet assisting, animal shelters/adoption centres, and doggy daycare environments.
I’ve been house sitting on and off for around 10 years and previously spent 18 months as a full-time house sitter throughout QLD. I’m now returning to house sitting after spending time living in Japan for four years, as well as completing several long-term sits through external platforms.
Professionally, I worked as a pet sitter in Melbourne from 2013–2018 while also working with Lort Smith Animal Hospital. I also have experience fostering injured, sick, rescue, and socially anxious dogs and cats, and I’m comfortable administering medication and following detailed care routines.
My previous sits have included:
• 1, 2, and 6-month house sits in Japan through TrustedHousesitters
• A 6-month sit in QLD involving pet care, lawn mowing, plant care, and behavioural training for a young kitten
• Caring for pets with different temperaments, including anxious, shy, senior, and high-energy animals
Pricing guide updated Aug 2026!

💬 Before arranging a meet-and-greet: Please send me your suburb, dates, number/type of pets and their basic care/walking requirements. I’m receiving quite a few enquiries, so this helps me quickly work out whether I’m a good match for you and your pets. 😊
I understand every pet has their own personality and routine, and I always take the time to make them feel safe, calm, and comfortable. Whether your pet loves attention and playtime or prefers quiet company and routine, I adapt my care to suit their needs.
For dog walks, I tailor the walk length and activity level to the individual dog, whether they prefer a relaxed stroll, regular exercise, or more active play. I’m also happy to assist with feeding schedules, basic grooming, medication, watering plants, mail collection, and keeping the home clean and tidy while you’re away.
Communication is very important to me, and I provide regular updates and photos so owners can relax knowing their pets are safe and well cared for.
I’m a caring and creative person who enjoys travel, writing music and poetry, and creating original theatre projects. I work and study part-time both online and in person, which gives me flexibility and allows me to spend plenty of time at home with pets during the day or provide regular visits and walks in the local area.
A few practical things before booking 😊
🚍 Location & travel: I travel by public transport, so please include your suburb/location when enquiring. My advertised rate is for straightforward sits in locations that are reasonably convenient for me to reach. For locations requiring substantial additional travel, I may quote a higher rate to account for travel time and transport costs.
🐾 Care requirements: My base rate applies to an easy-care pet with standard feeding, companionship and walking requirements. Multiple pets, large/high-energy dogs, extensive walking, medication or more involved/special-needs care may attract a higher rate. Longer or particularly convenient stays may be discounted.
🌿 Fragrance-free home required: I have significant sensitivities to strong fragrances and chemical products, so I can only accept stays in homes that are free from plug-in/reed diffusers, incense, scented candles, essential-oil diffusers and strongly fragranced cleaning products or air fresheners or that have been freshly renovated or painted during my stay. If you use any scents normally, that’s absolutely fine — please just let me know before we arrange a meet-and-greet and turn them off/air out the room beforehand.
(Many people are suffering from this post covid and I have persoally had episodes of pancreatitis and anaphylaxis due to this. Even if it's "natural" a smell isn't just a smell. It's an airborne partial that enters the body and has to be detoxed by the liver and lymphatic system - which is impaired in those with long covid and other conditions. thanks for reading!!)
