Introduction

We are Rhys and Nick. We recently lost our 13.5-year-old dachshund Marlon, and our home feels quiet without the pitter-patter of paws. We miss the routine, the affection and the small moments that come with having a dog around. We would love to welcome a furry guest into our home and look after them like family.

We are experienced dog owners. We know how to care for dogs of any age, from puppies to seniors. Rhys works from home 2–3 days each week, so your dog will have company and attention for long stretches of the week. On the days he is in the office, we do not accept daycare bookings, so your dog will always have someone home. We follow Pawshake rules: no more than 3 hours alone during boarding and no more than 1 hour alone during daycare.

We know how much trust sits behind choosing someone to care for your dog. We take the role seriously. Your dog will be safe, comfortable and cared for with the same love we gave Marlon.

What we offer

• Overnight stays in our home

• Daycare only on the days Rhys works from home

• Two walks per day for boarding guests

• One walk for daycare (more if agreed)

• Walks are about 30 minutes, adjusted to your dog’s comfort

• Play, rest and simple routines matched to your dog

• Medication given if needed (pills, drops, simple treatments)

• No grooming or formal training, but we follow your instructions

• We welcome a second dog if they are from the same family

• We do not take dogs from different families at the same time

• We shape the day around what your dog needs

Our routine

Care fits naturally into our week.

• Rhys is home 2–3 days and provides full-day supervision on those days.

• We do not accept daycare bookings on office days.

• For boarding, we plan our time so your dog is never left alone for long.

• Morning and afternoon walks.

• Calm time, play and simple structure through the day.

Your dog gets attention, can keep their routine and has a safe place to settle.

Our home

We live in a quiet Fitzroy cottage. There are no children or other pets in the home. It is a calm, sunny environment where dogs feel secure.

Your dog can sleep where they feel most comfortable. Many choose the bedroom or a cosy spot we set up for them. Crates are only used if you request them.

We have a small, secure backyard for toilet breaks and short outside time. Gates are locked and safe. Most exercise happens on walks through nearby parks and quiet streets.
