I am in my early thirties and enjoy house sitting and love animals. I have mainly looked after dogs but am equally happy around all animals. I have always been an animal person and people often awe at how natural their pets behave even if I have just met them for the first time.
I like to keep tidy, am a non smoker and respect other peoples belongings.
I have a full time job, but start and finish earlier than the standard office worker (7-4 M-F) which means I can be home in time to keep your pets company and walk them before dark.
I grew up with pets (a cat, two dogs and many birds and fish). I started house and pet sitting when I was a teen for friends and family when they went away, and decided to start full time professional sitting while at uni. I have always loved animals since I was little however, unfortunately, was never able to be a vet.
Pet sitting has meant that I get to work with animals on a caring level and is such a rewarding job. When caring for a pet, I always treat them as my own and have made life long friends with recurring clients. I am always happy to meet both you and your pets before you leave. This means that your pets can be formally introduced to me to ensure they don't feel threatened or abandoned.
What is the benefit of pet sitting?
Looking after you pets in their own environment means they feel more comfortable and are less likely to act out. This is especially important for older pets and pets with special needs. I provide one on one care with daily walks and cuddles on the couch which are especially awesome in the winter months.
over my time pet and house sitting, responsibilities have included: maintaining the house itself, light gardening, mail collection, paying bills when needed, keeping communication with the owner when needed and best of all taking care of the pets. I have looked after dogs (big and small), cats, birds and a guinea pig. They have required feeding, walking, attention and play time, and medication/extra TLC. On the occasion that an unexpected event has happened, I have also dealt with electrician and plumber.
I have a car and full drivers license, so off street parking is a bonus but not essential. I also catch the train every day to work. I do not have a current police certificate but do have a current working with children’s card and can give references on request.
My regular/preferred areas include Kingston, Bayside, Monash and Whitehorse.

Couldn't fault Rachel in any way; our cat took to her greatly and she left the house in immaculate condition. Always forthcoming with updates on his status also. Would use again.
Rachel was great to work with, she seemed very happy to help us out and I felt relaxed going away and leaving Reggie, our spoilt girl, in her care. We received some photos and an update while we were away. Thanks Rachel, your care was very much appreciated..
