"Antonia was an absolutely amazing dog sitter for our senior greyhound. He can be anxious with new people but Antonia formed a really sweet bond with him very quickly and he was up on the sofa with her every night (which is the true sign of a friend for life with him)!
She was really diligent with his routine and he thrived with her care. I really appreciated the daily updates and she was very responsive and open.
I’d 100% recommend Antonia to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter. "

"Carolina is a wonderful dog sitter! She sent me pics and updates each day, and I was filled with confidence the doggies were very happy with her care. The house was really clean and tidy when I returned, would definitely use Carolina again. Thanks Carolina!"

"The best experience we’ve ever had with a house and pet sitter! Fran is just wonderful — incredibly professional, thorough and a great communicator. Our little cat Benny was in such good hands for the two weeks we were away. We received regular updates, he absolutely adored Fran, and we came home to a spotless house. We couldn’t recommend Fran more! "

"I couldn’t have asked for better people to look after Miyu while I was away!
Chintia and Jeff were so warm, thoughtful and caring, and it was obvious from the regular updates and photos that Miyu felt safe, settled and loved. Coming home to a happy, relaxed dog gave me so much peace of mind.
Miyu can be an anxious pup and take a little while to warm to new people, but she clicked with Chintia and Jeff from the first meet, I was shocked! Miyu seemed more disappointed than excited when I arrived home, it was obvious she enjoyed herself with you guys 😆
Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of her.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for caring, trustworthy pet sitters."

"Michelle is world class. This was my first time using a pet sitter and it was for 6 weeks so me and my partner were naturally super nervous, Michelle put our minds at ease so quickly!!
She was fabulous at looking after our cats and ensured she met all their individual needs.
The communication was great and she was always quick to reply.
In addition to being incredible at looking after the little cats, Michelle left our house super clean. She looked after our place with such care. This was a lovely treat after a long day of travelling home.
Honestly could not thank Michelle enough and will be 100% booking again for any future trips! "

"Sabrina was so easy to communicate with leading up to the sitting period, she came over and met our pup, and grabbed the keys a couple of days before. During the sit, she kept us updated about our pooch and left the house immaculate. We came home to a very happy puppy and a very tidy house. Absolutely would recommence Sabrina to anyone 🖤"

Frequently asked questions about house sitting
Your house sitting questions answered
Why should I book house sitting?
Your pet will miss you when you are away, and arranging a house sitter can minimise any further stress on your furry friend. There is no need for car trips or cages, and your pet's routine can be maintained. Plus, the sitter can keep your home secure and tidy for when you return.
Can I get a house sitter anywhere in Melbourne?
Yes: there are house sitters all over the city and surrounds, ready to help you whenever you need. Don't take our word for it: just have a look on our site to see hundreds of profiles. Have a browse, read real past reviews and, when you are ready, send a message to a few sitters who look promising.
Will house sitting suit my pet?
House sitting is a great option for most pets. Animals crave a sense of security, and this service allows them to stay in their own familiar space. Your pet will have their own bed to sleep in and their feeding routine maintained.
What should I expect to pay?
The sitters on Pawshake choose their own prices for the services they offer. As a guide, you can expect to pay about $35 a night. Depending on where in Melbourne your sitter is located, their calendar and their past experience, you might see some variation in price.
