🐾 A loving home away from home

Hi! I’m a stay-at-home Mum living beachside in Mornington with my family of four and our very loved five-year-old Shih Tzu, Ralphie. 💕

I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, from big dogs to little dogs, so having dogs around has always been a big part of our family. I’m very comfortable with all the little quirks that come with having a dog and understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs.

❤️ A quick note before you enquire

Because we have young children and our own small dog, I’m currently only accepting small, non-shedding dogs under 10kg who are completely comfortable and happy around young children and other dogs.

We have a three-year-old and a five-year-old, so our home can be busy, noisy and energetic at times. There are bikes, toys, games, cuddles and plenty going on! This is really important for both your dog’s happiness and the safety of our little ones, so I do ask that your dog is genuinely comfortable in this type of family environment.

🐶 Ralphie

Ralphie is quite literally the friendliest dog on the planet. I’ve never seen him show an ounce of aggression and he absolutely LOVES having a friend stay with us. He’s very happy to share his toys, his backyard and all the cuddles!

I’m home most of the time and when I do head out, it’s usually very short and local, so your dog will have plenty of company and attention throughout the day.

🏡 Our home

We have a lovely open-plan home with a huge fully fenced backyard, lots of grass and plenty of sunny spots for dogs to explore and relax. We also have double gates at the front for extra security.

The house has big windows and doors looking out to the street, so there’s plenty of exciting people-watching to do, which the dogs seem to love!

There are no off-limit areas inside our home. Dogs are welcome wherever they’re comfortable and are more than welcome to sleep in our bedroom in their own little bed.

We have a huge basket of toys and chewy bones, and I’m very particular about keeping things clean. I pick up poo daily, wipe paws after wet walks and we have a great laundry tub for washing muddy paws or giving your dog a proper clean if needed.

🌿 Walks, play & individual needs

We’re beachside in Mornington, so we love getting out for morning and afternoon walks, exploring the local area and spending time outside. The kids are often out on their bikes while we walk too.

Ralphie has little legs that don’t cope with long walks, so he’ll often come along in the pram or stay home and relax if I’m heading out for a bigger walk.

I completely understand that every dog is different. An older dog might need plenty of quiet time and shorter walks, while a puppy might need help with toilet training, lead walking or settling into a new environment. Just give me your instructions and routine and I’ll do my very best to keep things familiar, happy and comfortable for your dog.

🔥 Family life

We’re a busy but very loving home, and your dog will be included in all the fun! There are plenty of cuddles, pats, playtime and outdoor adventures.

And then, once the kids are tucked into bed, things become a little more relaxed. There’s usually a fire roaring, everyone is curled up on the couch and there are plenty of doggy cuddles to go around.

I’m more than happy to organise a meet-and-greet before your dog stays with us. Come around, meet Ralphie and the kids, have a look at the house and backyard and let your dog have a good sniff and explore everything at their own pace.

I think it’s really important that you feel comfortable leaving your dog with us and, most importantly, that your dog feels comfortable here too. 🐾💕
