Hello, I’m Rae—a qualified Veterinary Nurse and Accredited Delta Canine Behaviour Trainer offering boutique, personalised dog care in Cape Paterson on Victoria’s beautiful Bass Coast.

My experience

I have many years of experience caring for my own dogs, working as a Veterinary Nurse and fostering dogs in my home. I have cared for dogs of different ages, breeds and temperaments—from puppies learning important life skills to senior dogs requiring established medication or special-care routines. My veterinary nursing and behaviour background helps me recognise each dog’s individual needs and provide calm, attentive care.

A boutique home stay

Your dog will be welcomed as part of our household—not treated as one of a crowd. To keep stays calm and personal, I accept one guest dog at a time, or two dogs from the same household.

I work part-time from home and my husband is retired, so someone is home most of the time to provide companionship and supervision. Your dog would only be left when necessary for a short appointment or errands—and always within the timeframe you tell us they are comfortable with. Before leaving, we provide suitable exercise or enrichment and ensure your dog is relaxed and settled.

Your dog will live, relax and sleep inside our home alongside Oscar, our gentle, well-mannered 10-year-old Shetland Sheepdog. Visiting dogs therefore need to be friendly and comfortable sharing a home with another dog.

Our coastal environment

Our environmentally designed home maintains a consistent and comfortable temperature year-round. Immediately outside our back gate are beautiful wetlands with 6 km of granite walking trails. Cape Paterson’s sandy beaches, coastal paths, fully fenced dog park and designated off-leash beach area are also just a short walk away. 

Daily exercise and walks are included with boarding and daycare—they are not charged as an extra. Every stay is tailored to your dog’s age, health, fitness and personality. Their day might include running free on the beach, swimming in the ocean, a longer trail walk or hike, enrichment games or the seniors, a gentle sniffing stroll, a dog-friendly café outing or cuddles on the couch. Many dogs love to also just relax in the sun on our deck. Dog-park visits and off-leash outings will occur if suitable and with your prior approval.

I do have a current Police Check Certificate.

Personalised care

I’m comfortable following your dog’s established feeding, medication and special-care instructions. Please tell me about any medical needs, allergies, mobility concerns, anxiety, reactivity, resource guarding, escape behaviour or other care requirements before booking. This allows me to plan a safe, comfortable and enjoyable stay.

You will receive daily photo or video updates and honest communication about how your dog is settling in. 

My aim is simple: to give your dog a safe, enriching coastal holiday—and give you peace of mind knowing your much-loved companion is comfortable, happy and receiving plenty of individual attention and qualified care.
