Hi! My name is Allyson, I’m a Year 2 Veterinary Medicine student at Murdoch University and a HUGE animal lover. I’ve worked as a grooming assistant and completed placements at veterinary clinics, so I’m very comfortable handling pets of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels.

I also have a 9-year-old Shih Tzu named Hiro, whom I’ve cared for his whole life. From feeding, walking, and grooming to managing vet visits, I understand firsthand the responsibility and love that comes with caring for a pet.

Through my work and studies, I’ve developed strong animal handling skills and an understanding of pet safety. I’m confident recognising early signs of stress, discomfort, or illness, and I always prioritise calm, low-stress handling. During walks, I ensure secure leash attachment, avoid unsafe environments (e.g., extreme heat or high-traffic areas), and tailor activity levels to each dog’s age and fitness. I also carefully follow feeding instructions, medication schedules, and any specific care requirements provided by owners.

I understand that every pet is different, and I always try to match their routine, energy level, and comfort needs. Whether your dog loves long walks (which I do too!) or just wants cuddles and company, I’m happy to adapt.
