Hi, I’m Annika! I am 22 years old and I am from Sweden and Guatemala! I am currently in Sydney for my exchange semester where I will be studying full-time at UNSW! I have a husky at home in Sweden and because I love spending time with dogs I thought it would be a win-win situation if I can be help you take care of your dog! Pets are such an important part of our lives but sometimes life gets in the way, which is where I can step in to help! I believe dogs are an extension of humans and therefore should not be neglected. My dog completes me in such a unique way and being away from home I am really missing the connection with pets, which is why the opportunity to take care of dogs sounds like a perfect addition to my exchange life!

For background, I grew up with a German shepherd and currently have a husky back home so I am very used to being around active dogs but I also love cuddling up with them as well! My sister has a husky and a labrador, and my boyfriend also has a german shepherd so big and active dogs are not a problem for me! Apart from the task of walking these dogs and spending time with them at home, I am familiar with basic training tasks, such as making sure the dogs understand commands and potty training. 

I'm a full-time student but due to my schedule I am very flexible! The only days I am unavailable are Mondays and Tuesdays. The rest of the week I am quite flexible but have more time to help at lunch times and in the evening! I offer dog-sitting and overnight stays at the owners place as well as dog walking (I don't mind the length of the walk, I love being active). The length of the walk truly depends on the dog, I don't have any limitations with taking longer walks or shorter ones! I currently live in Vaucluse and there are plenty of grass areas and parks which is a perfect place to walk dogs!

As for overnight stays at the owners place, I can stay for however long needed during the afternoons. While dog-sitting, I will absolutely make sure that your dog is fed at their scheduled time and the appropriate amount, I will make sure they are taken care of and feel safe around me, I will play with them, and follow their cues if I feel they need anything specific! During overnight stays I am more than happy to make sure everything is taken care of around the house, such as bringing in mail, watering plants, putting toys away, and keeping the place tidy (eventhough dogs shed haha). 

I understand that life can get in the way which is why I am more than happy looking after your dog!
