About Felicity
You can't fake love with pets and they know I love having them around.
I have lived with fur-babies and feathered-friends most my life, but have none in my home, so that's why I housesit for those who do. In exchange for giving them the attention they need, they reward me with love, cuddles and exercise, especially when I'm taking them for walks along the beaches and parks.
I've been officially in-home pet-sitting since 2017. Currently based on the southside of Brisbane I work as an e-learning architect, a.k.a. Instructional Designer.
This requires me to be away from home for 8 hours + travel time Monday to Friday.
Outside of work, I'm passionate about cooking, cultures and living healthily on both a spiritual and physical level. I love to learn from others, and focus on my own personal growth constantly.
As someone tapped into my own intuition, I enjoy helping others get unstuck by sharing my gift of reading cards to help them move forward, while intuitively learning my own lessons from the Universe as I go.
To help myself stay connected, and keep my creative energy flowing, I practice meditation, yoga/Thai Chi, movement, singing/songwriting, playing guitar, painting, walking, exploring, swimming, cooking, travel, being with my children and grandchildren, and living life to the full however I can.
Due to my work and creative pursuits, I am unable to give pets under two years the one-on-one time they need. I am more suited to mature animals who are used to their owners going off to work for up to 8 hours a day, and thriving on all the cuddles we share when I can focus on them in the evenings.
Two small to medium sized dogs at once is my limit as I find it difficult to hold onto the bigger more excitable ones, especially when they chase after other animals. Cats, birds, and less adventurous pets, are no problem. I can transport pets to the dog parks, vet, and groomers if necessary.
Note: that when I take dogs outside they are always on-leash as I do not trust they will recognise my voice calling them back if they run off. #safetyfirst
I provide in-home petsitting services on the southside of Brisbane because that is where my office is.
I am available to meet face-to-face depending on where you are located, or via an online video call (e.g. Zoom, Messenger)
What I request from you as the Home/Pet Owner, is a warm bed, use of electricity, water, bathroom, kitchen and laundry amenities, parking space, and access to a reliable internet service if it's a rural property (otherwise I tether to my phone in the city.)
Essential: is a well-written emergency action plan in case anything unlikely crops up while you are away, and instructions for caring for your pet, garden (watering only), and rubbish bin day. Please include exact times for feeding and exercise and any instructions for administering medicine.
When we meet, please clarify the maximum hours you are comfortable with your pet being on their own, and where you would like me to sleep. I am happy to share the bed with your fur-baby if that is what they are used to and it does not interrupt my much-needed sleep. (An overtired pet-sitter puts your pets at risk.)
Remember: my work requires me to be away from the home for 8 hours + travel time and I am unable to change my work commitments if this does not suit your pet.
I will keep your home in the condition you left it in, your pets happy and safe, and enable you to fully enjoy your time away with peace of mind.
I look forward to meeting you and your gorgeous fur-family soon.
