Hi, my name is Abby and I thank you for considering me to take care of your pet! I'm 23 years old, currently living in Newcastle and am about to start my master's degree in conservation biology.

I have been a dog and animal lover for my whole life, so much so that it is what I've dedicated my life to. I recently graduated from my bachelor's and honours degree during which I majored in animal health, disease and welfare and wildlife conservation. I have also spent the last 4 years working as an animal attendant for doggy daycares and boarding kennels. By joining up with Pawshake I am really hoping to use my knowledge and experience to provide an extra level of fun, enrichment and care to the lives of any dog I work with. I understand how expensive pet care can be so am more than open to discussing rates for walks or home visits/sits as I want this to be an alternative, affordable option to daycare/boarding. I have worked with dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages and temperaments so am more than happy and capable to take on dogs that may be dog selective or lead aggressive or may just be a little nervous or timid.

I am available every day of the week and at any time as I am wanting to take this role as a pet sitter on full-time. Walk times on offer are 20, 30 or 60 minutes and I'm happy to take multiple dogs from the same family together. I want to really strive to ensure each dog in my care comes back from their walk safe and happy so am more than willing to discuss shorter or longer walks depending on what you and your dog needs. Dogs should have the opportunity to explore and getting to see new places and the enrichment that brings in itself is an important thing so if your dog loves the beach, the park or the bush I am more than willing to take them on those adventures (no travel charge).

I am also offering home check in's or overnight stays with your dog for 1 or multiple nights. I know that being away from your pet can be a stressful time for a lot of owners so I want to do my part to help make it as easy as possible so will work within whatever requirements are specific to you and your dog. Overnight stays also include a 1 hour walk per day.
