Hi, I’m Harsh! I’m an animal scientist, trained canine behaviourist and experienced animal carer with almost 10 years of hands-on experience working with animals. I recently completed my PhD researching koala joeys and hold a Master’s in Animal Science from UQ, specialising in Wildlife Biology.

My experience goes well beyond academic training. I’ve worked as a wildlife rescuer and rehabilitator, caring for animals including orphaned macaques and koala joeys, and previously worked as a Rehoming Manager for an animal welfare NGO. In that role, I cared for and trained abandoned dogs and helped around 65–70% successfully find loving homes. I’ve also completed formal training in canine behaviour and training.

For Pawshake, I offer home visits, dog walking, feeding, playtime, companionship, overnight house sitting and basic medication administration. I’m comfortable caring for dogs, cats and other small companion animals, and I’m happy to follow detailed instructions around feeding, exercise, medication, behaviour and routines.

For overnight stays, I care for your pet in their own home so they can stay in a familiar and comfortable environment. I follow their normal routine as closely as possible and can provide regular updates, including photos and messages, so you know how they are doing. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s individual needs and agree in advance on how long they can comfortably be left alone during the day.

I also understand that looking after your pet means respecting your home. I keep the house clean and secure, follow any instructions about doors, gates, alarms and access, and treat your belongings and property with the same care and respect I would expect in my own home.

I know how much trust it takes to leave a beloved pet in someone else’s care, and I never take that trust lightly. I take the time to understand each animal’s personality, habits and little quirks. Whether your pet is playful, nervous, elderly, energetic or needs a little extra attention, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable and cared for while you’re away.

I don’t offer boarding at my own home or grooming services, but I’m very happy to care for your pet in their familiar environment and give them the individual attention they deserve.
