We are an animal loving family based in Summer Hill, where we live with our 3 year old Labradoodle, Cookie. 

We have used Pawshake for many years, both to find care for our dogs and to offer care for other people's pets. We have always loved the idea of our dog being cared for in someone's home where she is comfortable and around people. Now that our children are a bit older, we are looking forward to doing the same for other people's dogs again in our own home, as we understand just how hard it can be to find pet care sometimes. 

We both have a lot of experience with dogs and cats, having spent most of our lives around them and having cared for many dogs in the past. We live in a house with a small backyard near lots of parks, offering the opportunity for plenty of exercise, walks and interesting smells when out and about.

I (Hayley) work from home part time, and am therefore around all day to give your loved one plenty of care and attention, along with lots of walks and toilet breaks when needed. On days when I am not working, Martin works from home and will be here to keep any dogs company.

Cookie is very much part of our family - she lives inside with us and has free rein of the house to sleep and hang out where she pleases. Any dog we care for will be treated with the same love, care and attention as we give her.

As we have two young children, we can only consider dogs who are tolerant of small people and big noises. While our children are very comfortable and gentle with dogs, they are also children so can be very loud and unpredictable. Our house has plenty of space for dogs to find their own spot away from the kids, and both parties will never be left in each other's company unsupervised. 

All dogs must be fully vaccinated and regularly treated for fleas and worms, and de-sexed provided they are old enough. We are well versed in the art of puppies and are happy to consider them.

We are always happy to follow any routines or training processes you may currently have underway, and have plenty of experience administering medication (we are particularly good at hiding pills in pieces of cheese).

To ensure the happiness and comfort of both Cookie and your own dog we insist on a meet and greet to ensure they get along and will have a great time during their stay.
