Hi, I’m Joana 😊 - a Swiss‑Australian animal lover who has just settled in Melbourne and is excited to help locals care for their furry family members.

I grew up surrounded by animals, did horse riding for many years, previously had free-roaming rabbits 🐇, and regularly looked after my sister’s dog and the pets of friends and family back in Switzerland. Because bunnies aren’t allowed here, I’m now channeling all that love and care into Melbourne’s cats and dogs instead.

Friends describe me as gentle, organised and incredibly reliable: if I say I’ll do something, I do it, and I pay attention to the small details that keep pets safe and happy. I’m a naturally calm presence, which helps shy or anxious animals feel more at ease, and I’m very respectful of each pet’s routine and personality.

🐈 For cats, my visits include fresh food and water, litter cleaning, a quick check of their general wellbeing and play or cuddles tailored to their temperament. If I can – and if the cat is comfortable – I’ll often stay longer than the 30 minutes to play with them or simply keep them company. I’m happy to follow detailed feeding or medication instructions for cats who need tablets, liquids or special diets.

🐕 For dogs, I offer focused 30‑ to 60-minute walks with plenty of sniffing time, basic reinforcement of your existing training and careful attention to their energy levels and comfort. I’m experienced with both calm and energetic dogs and will always stick to your preferred walking style (loose‑lead walks, shorter strolls for seniors, or extra mental enrichment for active dogs). 

Safety is very important to me. Before each booking I like to discuss routines, vet details and emergency contacts, and I keep owners updated with messages and photos so you know how your pet is doing. If something doesn’t seem right, I’ll contact you promptly and follow the plan we agreed together.

I’m comfortable with most indoor cats and small‑to‑medium dogs, and I’m happy to follow any specific instructions you provide. I currently have flexible availability, including weekdays and many weekends, which means I can be responsive for last‑minute bookings.
