Hi, we are Sara and Mike. :)

We are a couple in our late 30s who own a software business. Mike has a PhD in psychology so watches lots of doggie psychology videos, and I'm an engineer. Being nerds, our deepest connections have always been with our dogs. 

I (Sara) have had 2 rescue dogs of my own and have rescued and re-homed half a dozen abandoned dogs. Mike has also had 4 family dogs. Our most recent pup recently passed away at the age of 15 - he was such a big part of our lives and came along on every adventure with us (he had separation anxiety, so we just became a little trio!). He moved 3 countries with us :)
He was very old, so we are both familiar and equipped with all the things needed to care for a senior dog (eg. have a doggie stroller, no stairs or jumping for their arthritis, know diets can be strict, walks need to be slow and short, and meds may be required).

We also used to dog sit our neighbors dog who had separation anxiety, and after he had a major surgery. So very familiar with dogs with complex needs.

We know every dog has their own personality and way of communicating - it’s up to us to listen closely, care for them with love, and give them the space to be their awesome, quirky selves. We can’t wait to welcome more wagging tails into our home.

Mike and I work from home 3-4 days a week and home most weekends. So quite flexible to dog sit at ours, including overnight stays. We love long walks (or short ones if you have an older pet), so walks are not a problem at all.

We will send LOTS of updates. Photos, messages, and lots of emojis because we are probably obsessed with all the cute poses and funny things your dog does. Also, because we want to make sure we are reading all their cues correctly, and they are comfortable and happy.  

We live in a large ground floor apartment with a fully fenced private yard.

We will only accept one dog at a time, unless the dogs are siblings, or we ask your explicit permission and the dogs have the opportunity to meet at a meet and greet.

One thing we'd strongly prefer not to do is walk a dog with only a collar and no a harness. If they pull that can hurt their little necks and can cause life long damage to their spine, trachea and esophagus. So if you could please bring a harness we would be ever so grateful.
