I'm an experienced ex vet nurse with many years of experience with both small and large animals including exotics. I used to run my own interstate pet transport business, after working in the veterinary field, running my own dog grooming salon as well as working for at a reptile park in Alice Springs.

These days I now work locally as a car detailer during the week and then by night I'm a cartoonist with a speciality in Pet portraits.

As I have experience in exotics, ( Reptiles and Birds and arachnids as well as cold water and tropical fish (nothing is too weird for me)  dogs and cats, as well as horses and livestock.

For fun I love horse riding and in the warmer months snorkeling and rollerskating and of course spending time with my own pets.

I have a Clydesdale horse called Freyja, a Chihuahua called Munchie Mendez and two birds called Chopper and Cheesecake.

 I’m a lifelong animal lover with many years of professional and personal experience caring for animals. My background includes veterinary nursing, professional dog and cat grooming, owning and operating an interstate pet transport business, working in the pet industry and caring for a wide variety of animals over the years.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I’m very comfortable with different personalities, from confident and outgoing pets to nervous, elderly or more sensitive animals. My previous veterinary nursing experience also means I’m confident with general animal care, recognising when something isn’t quite right and administering medication when required and appropriate.

I offer pet care in the owner’s home, including home visits, dog walking and house/pet sitting. I’m generally flexible with availability and can provide morning, afternoon or evening visits depending on my schedule and your pet’s normal routine.

Home visits:

A standard visit is approximately 30–60 minutes depending on your pet’s needs. Visits can include feeding, fresh water, cleaning bowls, litter trays or pet areas, medication where required, playtime, cuddles and companionship. I’m also happy to bring in mail, put bins in or out and water plants while you’re away.

Dog walking:

Walks are generally around 30–60 minutes and can be adjusted to suit your dog’s age, fitness and personality. I prefer safe, pet-friendly local streets, parks and walking areas and will always take your dog’s individual needs into consideration. Older dogs certainly don’t need the same marathon as a young energetic dog!

House and pet sitting:

When house sitting, I aim to keep your pets’ routine as normal as possible in the environment where they are most comfortable. The amount of time I can spend at the property will be discussed before booking, as this can vary depending on my work commitments and your pet’s needs. I take home security seriously, ensuring doors, windows and gates are properly secured, keys are kept safe and your home is left private and secure. I’m also happy to maintain the little things that make a home look occupied while you’re away.

I’m reliable, practical and very hands-on, and I understand how important it is to have someone you can genuinely trust looking after both your animals and your home. Having worked professionally with animals in several different capacities, I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and understand that every animal has its own quirks, routines and individual needs.

What I enjoy most about pet sitting is getting to know each animal individually and giving owners peace of mind that their pets are being properly cared for while they’re away. I treat the animals in my care with the same patience, kindness and respect I would want for my own.
