Hi, I'm Myra!

I'm a 58-year-old animal lover originally from Ireland. I grew up on a small farm where animals were simply part of the family. We always had dogs and cats, along with a donkey, goats, ducks, hens and even a few mischievous geese! Caring for animals has been a way of life for as long as I can remember.

After moving to Australia, I shared my life with two beautiful Irish Wolfhounds. As my children grew up, our home was always full of animals, including cats, guinea pigs, fish and even a pet sheep named Beauty! It's safe to say our family has always had a soft spot for furry (and feathered!) friends.

Over the years, I've gained extensive experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes and personalities. I'm equally comfortable with tiny companion breeds and large, energetic dogs, and I have a special place in my heart for senior pets and those with additional needs.

I have significant experience caring for elderly dogs and administering oral medications. One of my regular clients has a dog who is both blind and deaf, so I understand the patience, gentle handling and consistency that pets with special needs require.

People often tell me I have a calm and gentle nature, and I've found that anxious dogs and cats usually relax and begin to trust me quite quickly. I always let pets set the pace, allowing them to feel safe and secure while building a trusting relationship.

Having grown up on a farm and spent my life around animals, I'm also happy caring for cats, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and other small pets. I understand that every animal has its own personality and needs, and I genuinely enjoy taking the time to get to know them.

My Availability

I have a flexible schedule and am available most mornings, afternoons and evenings, including weekends by arrangement. I always do my best to accommodate my clients whenever possible.

Services I Offer

I offer pet sitting, home visits, dog walking and house sitting. My services can include:

• Feeding and refreshing water.
• Dog walking and exercise tailored to your pet.
• Playtime, companionship and lots of cuddles.
• Administering oral medications.
• Cleaning litter trays and picking up after pets.
• Following your pet's normal routine to help them feel settled.
• Regular photo and message updates so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind.

While I don't provide grooming or formal training, I'm happy to reinforce your pet's usual routines and basic commands.

Home Visits

For home visits, I generally stay for around 30–60 minutes, ensuring your pets receive quality time and companionship rather than just a quick feed. I'm also happy to water plants, bring in the mail, and put bins in or out if needed.

Dog Walks

Walks are tailored to each dog's age, health and energy level. Whether your dog enjoys a brisk adventure or a slow stroll with plenty of sniffing, I'm happy to adapt to what suits them best. Walks are generally 30–60 minutes unless otherwise requested.

House Sitting

When house sitting, I aim to spend as much time as possible in your home so your pets can maintain their normal routine and enjoy plenty of company. I treat every home with the utmost respect, keeping it clean, tidy and secure. I'll collect your mail, water plants, manage bins, and ensure doors, windows and gates are locked whenever I leave.

I understand that pets are family, and I care for every animal as though they were my own. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away knowing your beloved companions are safe, happy and receiving the love and attention they deserve.

I'm a non-smoker, have my own reliable transport, and pride myself on being dependable, trustworthy and respectful of both your home and your pet's routine.
