I'd love to care for your cat, dog, or other lovely animal(s) in the comfort of your home while keeping it well-maintained. Duration of pet sit: I can assist from a couple of days, up to 4 weeks (for those of you who like to take longer trips). Other services: I can also help with dog walks 🐕‍🦺 or in-home cat visits 🐱 as needed. About me - why I joined Pawshake I miss having a pet - I travel regularly for work and leisure, so unfortunately having a pet of my own isn’t practical. The next best thing I found is pet sitting! ❤️ I've been pet sitting informally for decades for friends (I'm older than I look!) and recently decided to sign up for Pawshake. I work usually from home in international business consulting which means I can often be around during the day for pets who enjoy some company, attention or a walk. This year I started occasional support work involving short shifts for people with disabilities. This required a verification process including a police check that I'm happy to provide. How I look after pets and your home 🏡 As a homeowner myself, I understand the trust involved in having someone stay in your home. I’m clean, respectful and careful with the property of others, and diligent when it comes to following your house rules and pet-care instructions. I’m also happy to take care of your plants 🪴 and keep them watered and thriving while you’re away from home. I’m patient and attentive with animals and happy to let them set the pace, especially with shy or standoffish cats. I listen to how you normally care for them, and aim to keep their routine as close to usual. I love caring for pets and capturing their cuteness through photos and videos. I would be delighted to share daily updates while you're away so you can still stay connected to your beloved fur babies 💕 Experience with animals 🐕🐩🐾🐈🐈‍⬛ Growing up, we started with gold fish, then guinea pigs and finally a family dog (an energetic Jack Russell mix who lived to 18)! I have been house sitting and caring for dogs and cats of friends over the years and have loved spending time with them. Some recent experiences include: Mid-October - 🐕🐈‍⬛ I am looking after an escape-artist cat and a Jack Russell whose hobbies include park walks and wrestling with his cat brother. They are so adorable together and I love how affectionate they have been with me. So far, the cat has not escaped under my watch. Early October - 🐈🐈🐈‍⬛ I took care of 3 rescue cats, 2 of which are notoriously shy and rarely come out. From a quick curious sniff when I arrived, I was surprised that on the second night, all 3 were comfortable to sleep on the bed with me. The owner said they only do that when she's around and it was a testament to my presence. They were lovely to look after - one of the shy cats was even up for pats. Mid-September - 🐈 I did a 2.5 week stint with a friend's temperamental 10 year old green-eyed tabby who can be challenging to look after. I let the cat guide our interaction, and she quickly got over any apprehension and constantly wanted to sit on my lap, purring (and also drooling - you might spot it in one of my photos). Later on, she even rolled over for belly rubs. According to her owners, this level of affection was unheard of. It was nice to see her sweet side, though she definitely could be moody! I have also completed many other successful pet sits and would be pleased to provide references for you.
