About Anne - Maree

Hello, I'm Anne-Maree and, together with my husband, we provide loving, home-based care on a rural property in Warrandyte, typically welcoming only one dog, or one family of dogs, at a time. Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember and caring for them is something I genuinely love. We understand that every dog has its own personality, routines and needs, which is why we strive to provide the same love, comfort and attention they enjoy at home. Unlike many pet sitting arrangements, I work from home, meaning your dog enjoys plenty of company, supervision and interaction throughout the day. We welcome our canine guests into our family and treat them as if they were our own. Many of our guests become regular visitors and are welcomed back like old friends. MEET BAILEY - OUR RESIDENT HOST A big part of what makes our retreat special is Bailey, our five-year-old Bordoodle (Border Collie and Poodle cross). Bailey absolutely loves having visiting dogs stay with us and has an incredible ability to make them feel comfortable and welcome. He especially enjoys inviting guests to play and is always keen for a good game of chase around the house and garden. What makes Bailey truly special, however, is his gentle and intuitive nature. He is remarkably good with small, nervous, timid, elderly or unwell dogs. Rather than overwhelming them, he gives them space when they need it, patiently allowing them to settle in at their own pace. He never seems to get jealous when visiting dogs receive attention and affection, making him a wonderful companion for dogs who may be anxious, lacking confidence or simply needing a little extra reassurance. Many owners tell us their dogs settle far more quickly than they expected, and we believe Bailey plays a big part in that. WHY DOGS LOVE STAYING WITH US Nestled amongst Warrandyte's beautiful bushland, our home provides a peaceful retreat away from the noise and stress of everyday life. Surrounded by nature, our guests enjoy a constantly changing world of fascinating scents, sounds and sights to explore, providing natural enrichment that keeps curious noses busy and tails happily wagging. We provide: 🐾 A genuine family environment 🐾 Personalised care and attention 🐾 Plenty of company throughout the day 🐾 Comfortable indoor living and sleeping areas 🐾 Yes, dogs are welcome on the furniture and even our bed if that's what they enjoy at home 🐾 Secure outdoor areas for supervised exercise and play 🐾 Daily walks along peaceful country lanes and bushland paths rich with exciting smells and sensory experiences 🐾 Regular updates and photos while you're away 🐾 A calm environment particularly suited to sensitive dogs 🐾 Loving care from experienced, lifelong dog owners Because we care for only one dog, or one family of dogs, at a time, every guest receives the attention, affection and individual care they deserve. PARTICULARLY SUITED FOR We are often a great fit for: 🐾 Small and medium-sized dogs 🐾 Senior dogs 🐾 Timid or anxious dogs 🐾 Dogs recovering from illness or medical treatment 🐾 Dogs who thrive on human companionship 🐾 Dogs accustomed to living indoors as part of the family 🐾 Puppies learning confidence and social skills OUR PREFERENCES We are generally best suited to small and medium-sized dogs, particularly oodles and other low-shedding breeds. While we happily consider many breeds and personalities, our home environment is not ideal for most large dogs, with the exception of larger poodle breeds such as Groodles and Labradoodles. To ensure the best experience for everyone, including Bailey and our visiting guests, we are unable to accommodate German Shepherds. Because we host only one dog, or one family of dogs, at a time, we are able to carefully assess whether each guest will be a good fit for our home environment and ensure they receive the individual attention they deserve. HOLIDAY AND PEAK SEASON BOOKINGS To ensure we can continue providing our personalised one-family-at-a-time care, a higher rate applies during periods of peak demand, including Christmas, Easter, public holiday weekends and school holiday periods. Peak season rate: $105 per night Two dogs from the same family: $160 per night As we welcome only one dog, or one family of dogs, at a time, holiday dates are limited and often book well in advance. We recommend securing your dates as early as possible to avoid disappointment. PEACT OF MIND FOR OWNERS We understand that leaving your dog can be difficult. Whether you're away for a weekend, a work trip or an extended holiday, you'll have the reassurance of knowing your much-loved companion is being cared for in a safe, caring and genuinely loving home. Our goal is simple: to provide a home away from home where your dog feels relaxed, secure and cherished while you're away. Whether your dog loves to play, cuddle, explore, snooze in the sunshine or simply stay close to people, we'll do everything we can to ensure they have a wonderful stay. We look forward to welcoming your furry family member into our home.
