Hi, my name is Jenna. I’m based in Mowbray Valley (10 minutes outside Port Douglas) from April–November, and on the Atherton Tablelands from December–March, where I live on a few acres of bushland.

I’ve been a passionate animal lover my whole life. I studied zoology at the University of Queensland, previously worked as a vet nurse, have experience with positive reinforcement training across a range of species (dogs, horses and even dolphins!), and I’m a permitted wildlife carer.

At Pet Retreat North Queensland (formerly Port Pet Retreat), your pets stay in a loving home environment and are treated just like family. They have full access to the house, verandah and a large fenced yard, often alongside my two friendly dogs. All animals receive individual attention, affection (heaps of pats, cuddles and/or brushing — whatever they love most), playtime and rest periods. When suitable and weather permitting, I also love taking dogs out for outdoor adventures such as the beach, creek, bush or a play with other dogs in our fully fenced grassy paddock.

I predominantly work from home, so I’m present and able to supervise most of the time (with short absences for groceries or essential errands). My goal is to create the best possible experience for your dog while you’re away, so you can relax knowing they’re in a knowledgeable, kind and loving home-away-from-home.

Just provide your pet’s food, bed (and favourite treats if you like), and I’ll take care of the rest.
