Hi! I'm Olivia 🐾

I would looove to look after your loyal companions while you're busy! I'm responsible, patient, caring and, most importantly, a huge animal lover.

I recently spent three months volunteering at a dog shelter in Thailand, where I helped care for multiple dogs every day. My main responsibilities included walking groups of shelter dogs, cleaning and maintaining their living areas, feeding, socialising and generally making sure they were happy and comfortable.

Shelter dogs all have very different personalities, and some of the dogs I worked with were anxious, nervous or reactive. This taught me how important it is to be patient, read a dog's body language and let them build trust at their own pace. One of my favourite parts of the experience was taking groups of dogs for early-morning beach walks — watching them splash around in the shallow water was definitely a highlight!

I've grown up around pets and have also pet-sat in Melbourne and on the Sunshine Coast. One of my longer stays was looking after a lovely dog called Opie for a month. I walked him every day, fed him twice daily, kept him company and gave him plenty of playtime, cuddles, tug-of-war and fetch in the garden.

🐶 What I can offer

I work from home, so if your pet stays with me they'll have plenty of company throughout the day rather than being left alone for long periods. I also have a small garden area where they can relax outside.

I'm happy to provide regular walks, playtime, feeding, lots of attention and, of course, cuddles if they're a cuddly kind of pet! I love getting outdoors, so I'm more than happy taking dogs for longer walks to the park or beach and throwing a ball around with them — although I'm not sure who would enjoy that more!

I'm comfortable caring for multiple animals at once and have experience managing groups of dogs through my shelter work. I'm also happy caring for dogs who might need a little extra patience while they get comfortable with someone new.

For dogs staying at my home, I don't currently have my own dog bed or dog toys, so I ask owners to bring their pet's usual bed, toys and anything else that helps them feel at home. Having familiar things around can also make staying somewhere new a little less daunting.

Every animal has their own personality and routine, so please tell me as much as you can about yours — their favourite walks, games, feeding routine, little quirks and anything they love (or don't love!).
