Hi, I'm Kerry, and animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

For over 35 years I've cared for other people's pets, from dogs and cats to birds, reptiles and small rodents (will NOT care for arachnids, sorry). I studied animal husbandry at Taronga Zoo, which gave me a solid grounding in nutrition, handling, hygiene and spotting the early signs of distress and illness. Mostly, though, I just love animals. I understand that your pets are family, and I treat them that way.

What I offer:

• House sitting: I stay in your home and keep your pets' routines exactly as they're used to, including feeding, walks, playtime, medication and cleaning. I also look after the house itself: mail, plants (I like full instructions on care of plants, as I know they can be tricky), bins and security. I work full time in Alexandria, so this suits dogs who are comfortable on their own during the day. Outside work hours, my plans revolve around whoever I'm caring for.
• Drop-in visits: I'm happy to drop in for feeding, walks, cuddles and play. This usually suits cats best, but if you have a busy schedule and your dog needs a walk, feeding or cuddle time, then I'm happy to help.
• Special care: I'm comfortable giving medication and caring for senior pets or pets with special dietary needs, including cooking their meals. I'm also confident with reptiles and birds needs, such as heat lamps, UV lighting and enclosure cleaning. I also enjoy birds having 'fly' time as I know they can lose the ability to fly quickly if kept caged for long periods of time.

How I like to work

I like to meet you and your pet before the sit, so you both get to know me, albiet briefly. I'll ask about their routine, likes and dislikes, favourite walks or parks, favourite toys and anything else that matters to them. My aim is to keep disruption to a minimum, so the only change your pet notices is my arrival.
