I’m Ash, and I run Ash & Hound, a private pet care service in inner Brisbane.

I’ve been caring for other people’s dogs for six years, alongside volunteering with the Animal Welfare League, where I worked with animals of every size and temperament. Schnauzers, whippets, golden retrievers, seniors, puppies, and a good number of dogs who don’t do well anywhere else.

I work from home in digital design, which is the reason this works. Your dog isn’t left alone for a working day. They’re with someone, on the couch, on a walk, or asleep at my feet. That’s the whole proposition: near constant company, medication given on time, and a routine that looks like the one they have at home.

I take a small number of bookings at once, deliberately. It’s the only way to give a dog genuine attention rather than shared attention. I’m insured, I keep proper records, and every stay starts with a meet and greet so nobody is guessing.
