My partner and I are genuine dog lovers and the proud owners of a happy, energetic 1-year-old corgi who keeps us on our toes. Having him has been one of the most rewarding parts of our lives, and it’s what inspired us to start pet sitting. We know how important it is to leave your pet somewhere they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for — not just “looked after.”

Our home is calm, pet-friendly, and full of attention. We both enjoy an active lifestyle, so daily walks, playtime, and companionship are naturally part of the routine. Dogs staying with us won’t be left alone for long periods, as we both can work from home and are around throughout the day to provide supervision, interaction, and care.

We usually do two to three walks a day depending on each dog’s energy level and routine. Evening walks are typically the longest and can go for up to an hour, giving dogs plenty of time to exercise, explore, and unwind. We’re also mindful of each dog’s personality — whether they’re social and playful or prefer a quieter environment, we adapt to what makes them feel most comfortable.

While we’re new to Pawshake, we have solid, hands-on experience from raising and caring for our own dog every day. That includes maintaining routines, feeding, and understanding behaviour and comfort needs. We’re also comfortable reinforcing basic training such as leash manners, simple commands, and positive behavioural habits where appropriate.

For everyone’s safety, we only accept fully vaccinated pets into our home. This helps ensure a healthy environment for all dogs, including our own.

We treat every pet as if they were our own and aim to give owners genuine peace of mind while they’re away.
