Hi there, we're Josiah &amp; Lixie!
Originally from New Zealand and France, missing our dear pets back home is what first drew us to petsitting. Since then, we have pet-sat around the world, from anywhere between 2 days to 3 months - anything is possible if it's the right fit! We truly adore animals, from cats and dogs to parrots, iguanas, and chickens - it is such an absolute joy for us to spend time with and look after your pets as if they were our own.
We're a professional couple working in the city, and without the means to have our own pets at the moment, it is one of our greatest joys to look after your beloved pets of all shapes and sizes! Outside of our (almost) full-time jobs and hanging out with furry friends, we love hiking, rock climbing, and camping when we get the chance. We're also both artists, so when the weather doesn't permit the above, you'll find us doing photography, crocheting cardigans, or just hanging out playing card games with a good cup of coffee.
We take your trust very seriously when caring for a pet and/or house, maintaining kindness, cleanliness, and safety. It's very important to us that we meet you and your pet either in person or virtually prior to committing to a sit, ensuring that we're the right fit for each other.


I’m Amelia, based in South Hobart, and alongside running my little apothecary, Mils Market, I’ve always had animals woven into my life. I’ve cared for energetic border collies who need both stimulating walks and gentle reassurance, as well as Maine Coons and domestic cats with their own unique personalities and routines. I love spending time with animals, whether that’s long walks, quiet company, or simply making sure they feel safe and loved while their people are away. I’m attentive with feeding and care, and I know how important it is to stick to their familiar rhythms. I’m also happy to water plants, dust, or do a few dishes at a small cost — the things that help you come home with ease and comfort, as well as providing you with photo or video updates of your cat or dog on request. At heart, I bring patience, warmth, and a nurturing presence to both animals and homes, treating them as if they were my own. 


My mother loved animals, and my father loved outdoor adventures. My sisters and I inherited those loves. We grew up near the beach in Melbourne, and that's where we took our dog twice a day.&nbsp;
Our long-term pets were a dog (Labrador/border collie), two cats, lots of chickens, and occasionally rabbits and other small animals. We rescued baby birds, and kittens illegally dumped in the coastal reserve. My sisters grew up to be vets. In my teenage years I often looked after, and walked, neighbours' dogs.&nbsp;
I like small dogs, but big dogs are my favourites. I live near the beach in Sandy Bay, Hobart. There is a dog walking beach in the mornings near my home. Of course there's another well-known dog beach at Kingston. Dogs on leads are permitted in the bush reserve uphill from my home.&nbsp;
