I have been a dog owner all my adult life and truly miss canine companionship. I now find myself without a dog but it's not the right time for us to get another dog at the moment now so I am actively seeking ways to combine my love dogs and my love of walking. I have owned German Shorthaired Pointers since 2000 and have raised 3 from puppies. I reached intermediate level obedience with two of them as well as competing in agility interstate. I haven't done official pet sitting or walking through Pawshake before but I have done both walking and dog sitting for a local person and for family (Lilly the Beagle). I have owned dogs all my adult life (all large breeds) so I have good experience in walking dogs with different levels of enthusiasm and needs. I've also had experience with reactive dogs and how to support them while out walking. I am now exploring a move into semi-retirement and want to stay fit and active. I already walk in the inner Hobart area most days (mostly in Knocklofty and the Hobart Rivulet) but I also have a car and can travel to other areas in and around Hobart.
I'd love to spend time walking dogs who need some exercise and company while I get my doggy fix! I can also look after cats and can come to your place to feed them and provide some company.
