Hello! My name is Evan, and I am a Veterinary Nurse based in Hobart with professional experience caring for dogs and cats of different ages, breeds, temperaments, and medical needs. Working in the veterinary field has given me valuable skills in animal handling, behaviour observation, medication administration under veterinary instructions, and recognising when a pet may need additional attention or care.

I provide pet care together with the support of my partner, Gladys. We both genuinely love animals and work as a team to create a safe, caring, and comfortable environment for every pet staying with us. While I bring my professional veterinary experience to their care, having Gladys alongside me provides additional support, attention, companionship, and supervision throughout the day. This is particularly helpful when caring for multiple pets or when one animal requires some extra individual attention.

We understand that every pet is different. Some are energetic and social, while others are shy, anxious, elderly, or require special routines. Our goal is to provide a safe, structured, and comfortable environment where pets can settle in, maintain their normal routine as much as possible, and feel secure while their owners are away.

For dog boarding and doggy day care, we follow a daily routine that includes feeding according to the owner's instructions, fresh water available at all times, regular toilet breaks, supervised playtime, exercise, enrichment activities, rest periods, and plenty of individual attention. Dogs typically receive one or two walks per day, usually between 20 and 40 minutes depending on their age, fitness level, weather conditions, individual needs, and owner preferences.

Safety is always our highest priority. Before accepting a booking, I like to learn as much as possible about each pet's personality, medical history, behavioural traits, exercise requirements, feeding schedule, daily routine, and any special needs. Whenever possible, I also encourage a meet and greet before the first booking. This allows us to get to know your pet and helps us provide care that is appropriate for them from the moment they arrive.

When caring for multiple pets at the same time, we carefully assess compatibility based on temperament, size, age, energy level, and behaviour. Pets are supervised during interactions and can be separated when needed for feeding, resting, medication administration, or simply some quiet time. Having two of us also allows us to provide more individual attention and manage different routines when necessary. We continuously observe body language and behaviour to help ensure every pet remains comfortable and safe.

Our home is maintained as a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment. Pets have access to comfortable and hygienic resting areas, safe indoor spaces, and supervised outdoor areas. Doors, gates, and outdoor spaces are checked regularly to ensure security, and we take care to keep anything potentially unsafe out of reach. Our aim is to provide a relaxed home environment rather than a kennel-style experience.

As a Veterinary Nurse, I am comfortable caring for senior pets, pets requiring oral medications, pets recovering from veterinary procedures, and pets that may need extra patience, observation, or reassurance. I understand how important it is to follow veterinary and owner instructions carefully and to maintain familiar routines that help reduce stress. If a pet has a medical condition or requires medication, I always ask owners to provide clear instructions and relevant information before the booking.

Communication with owners is also very important to us. While your pet is in our care, we are happy to provide regular updates, photos, and messages so you can see how they are settling in and enjoy your time away with greater peace of mind.

Whether your pet needs overnight boarding, doggy day care, home visits, dog walking, or house sitting, you can feel confident knowing they will be cared for with kindness, patience, professionalism, and genuine affection.
