Hi, I'm Loïc! I'm 30, and I recently moved to Canberra after finishing my PhD at UQ in Brisbane. My professional background is in science, but animals have been the constant thread through my whole life, and looking after them isn't a side interest for me, it's something I genuinely love doing.

I grew up surrounded by animals and have hands-on experience with dogs, cats, and a wide range of small pets, including rats, mice, hamsters, rabbits, and even a snake. On top of that, I've fostered and volunteered with animals, which means I've looked after all kinds of personalities and needs, from anxious rescues to boisterous puppies.

These days I live in Canberra with my partner and our dog Oreo, a friendly Shih Tzu × Poodle who keeps us busy exploring the city's parks and walking trails. Because I have a dog of my own, I understand what it's like to hand over your pet to someone else, and I know how much peace of mind comes from knowing they're in genuinely caring hands.

I'm patient, reliable, and attentive to the small things that make a real difference, like sticking to your pet's routine, feeding schedule, and quirks, rather than doing things my own way. Whether your pet needs an energetic walk around the lake, a calm afternoon of company, or just someone trustworthy checking in while you're away, I'll treat them exactly like family. 

Changes I made: opened with the science-to-animals contrast as a hook rather than a caveat, added "I have a dog myself so I understand what it's like to hand mine over" (a trust signal Canberra owners respond well to), specified "around the lake" as a concrete local touch, and tightened the closing to sound warm but confident rather than just accommodating.
