Hi, I’m Paula! I’m originally from Belfast and now living in Sydney. Back home, I have a golden retriever called Buddy, who I miss loads, so Pawshake feels like a lovely way to spend time with dogs again while helping owners who need an extra pair of hands.

I’ve grown up around dogs (mainly Rottweilers) and understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone new. I’m calm, patient, reliable, and very happy to follow your dog’s usual routine, whether they need an energetic walk, a slower sniffy stroll, or just some company and attention.

At the moment, I’m offering dog walking, with either 30-minute or 60-minute walks depending on your dog’s needs. I’m flexible on weekdays and happy to walk around your local area, nearby parks, or quieter streets if your dog prefers a calmer route. I’ll always keep dogs on-lead unless we’ve discussed otherwise, they have reliable recall, and we’re in a safe, approved off-leash area.

For safety, I prefer to walk one dog at a time, or dogs from the same household if they’re used to being walked together. I’ll always take things at your dog’s pace, avoid anything that may make them uncomfortable, and follow any instructions you give me around feeding, water, lead handling, triggers, or preferred walking routes.

I’m best suited to friendly dogs who are comfortable being walked by someone new. If your dog is nervous, pulls on the lead, is reactive, or has any quirks, just let me know beforehand so we can chat and make sure I’m the right fit. I’m not a professional trainer, but I’ll use calm, consistent handling and positive reinforcement, and I’ll never put your dog in a situation that feels unsafe.

In an emergency, I’d contact you straight away and follow the care instructions you’ve provided, including contacting your vet if needed. I’m also happy to send photo updates after walks so you know your dog is safe and having a lovely time.
