About michael
Hi, I’m Michael. I’m a friendly, reliable and active person based in the Mandurah area who genuinely enjoys being around and caring for animals.
Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with dogs and fish as a child, which gave me an early love and appreciation for animals. Later, while living in Melbourne, our family had three dogs and a cat, so I’m comfortable caring for both dogs and cats and understand that every pet has their own personality, routine and individual needs.
I have a professional background in personal training, fitness and sports coaching, so I lead a very active lifestyle and enjoy being outdoors. Dog walking is something I particularly enjoy, and I can tailor walks to your dog’s age, size, fitness level and personality. Walks can generally be around 30–60 minutes, from a relaxed stroll for an older or less active dog to a more energetic walk for dogs that need additional exercise.
I offer dog walking, home visits, doggy daycare and overnight boarding. For home visits, I can provide feeding, fresh water, playtime, companionship and general care while following your pet’s normal routine and your instructions as closely as possible.
For doggy daycare, your dog will be welcomed into our home and have access to both indoor areas and our secure backyard. Their day can include walks, playtime, attention, toilet breaks and plenty of opportunities to relax.
For overnight boarding, pets will stay and sleep indoors as part of our household. I’m happy to follow their normal feeding, walking and sleeping routine as closely as practical to help them feel comfortable and settled while away from their owner.
We live in a house with a medium-sized, fully fenced backyard, giving dogs a safe and secure outdoor area for play and toilet breaks. Pets are welcome inside our home and will not be expected to sleep outside.
Pets staying with me will generally have plenty of company. However, because of normal work and family commitments, there may occasionally be periods when I need to leave the house. Pets may be left at home for a few hours at a time at most. I would therefore only accept a pet where the owner is comfortable with this and where the animal is accustomed to being safely left alone for short periods.
I live with my partner and our 4-year-old daughter, so any animal staying in our home must be friendly, well-behaved and comfortable around young children. The safety and wellbeing of both your pet and my family are extremely important to me.
Before accepting a new pet for daycare or boarding, I would prefer to arrange a meet-and-greet. This gives you the opportunity to meet me and see the environment, while also allowing your pet to become familiar with me and my family before their stay.
I understand that some animals can be nervous around new people or in unfamiliar surroundings. I’m happy to be patient and allow them to become comfortable at their own pace. I also like to learn about each pet beforehand, including their personality, favourite activities, feeding routine, exercise requirements, sleeping habits and anything they may be nervous or uncomfortable around.
My availability varies around my work and family commitments, but I can offer bookings during the week and on weekends depending on availability.
Having grown up with animals and later having three family dogs and a cat, I understand that pets are much more than just animals — they are part of the family. I also understand the trust involved in leaving your pet in somebody else’s care.
Whether I’m taking your dog for a walk, visiting your pet in their own home, providing daycare or welcoming them into our home for an overnight stay, my goal is to provide a safe, caring, reliable and comfortable environment with plenty of attention, exercise and companionship.
I’d be very happy to arrange a meet-and-greet so you and your pet can get to know me before your first booking.
