About Hannah
Hi, my name is Hannah, I have recently moved to Australia from the UK. I have always had animals at home (dogs, cats, rabbits and horses). During my studies I completed my degree in animal behaviour and work at an animal rescue in the UK.
I have two Border Collies back at my family home, so I am used to high energy breeds that need a lot of stimulation. But I have also fostered Greyhounds that take up the whole sofa just wanting to nap. I have seen many dogs from different backgrounds and helped through positive reinforcement training to find the forever homes they deserve.
Animals are definitely a big passion of mine and I missing them greatly while travelling. So feel this would be great opportunity to help out.
Working in an animal rescue I have been around lots of different animals over the years. I mainly work with dogs but I am a cat person just as much.
I have worked with litters of manic puppies to senior dogs needing medication and extra care in their daily life. Having Border Collies at home they are very active and keen to stick into a routine and not shy to tell you when it’s breakfast time. I grew up in the countryside around horses and other livestock. Which was great fun and taught me that animals are 365 day job rain or shine.
One of my family dogs is reactive so I become accustomed to mange dog walks and making his life as stress free as possible. Not all dogs enjoy other dogs or new people and I am very understanding of this with my own experience. I am very open to learning their new routine and getting to know your animals and environment the best way I can.
Due to travelling I am unable to offer dog boarding, but services such as house sitting and dog walking are ideal.
In terms of walking services, I would meet the needs of the dogs which will be discussed prior. Maximum would be an hour. I do not have my own car currently so I will be using public transport for local walks around the property area will be used.
I have had many house sitting jobs previously, I would want to meet prior to the booking so all parties feel comfortable and making sure I understand your pets routine. As well get to know the home and household security and what expectations are needed of me as the pet/ house sitter.
I will not use electric collars under any circumstances.
