Hi, I’m Clancy! I’m 27 and work full-time as a primary school teacher in Geelong. I’m a big dog lover and have my own Labrador, Addie, so looking after dogs is already a huge part of my everyday life. I’m active, reliable and really enjoy getting dogs out for walks, adventures and plenty of playtime.

I’m particularly interested in house sitting in the pet owner’s home while they are away. I think keeping pets in their own familiar environment is a great way to make their owners being away as stress-free as possible.

My availability:
During the school week I’m generally available in the early mornings, after school and throughout the evening, as well as overnight. I work during normal school hours, so pets would need to be comfortable being home during the day for that period. On weekends, public holidays and school holidays I’m much more flexible and can spend significantly more time at the home.

House sitting:
When house sitting, I can stay overnight at your home and spend the mornings, afternoons/evenings and nights with your pets around my work schedule. On weekends and days off I can generally be around for much more of the day. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal feeding, walking, sleeping and medication routines so things stay as familiar as possible.

I also take looking after someone’s home seriously. I’ll keep doors, windows and gates secured, keep keys safe, follow any alarm or home-security instructions provided and make sure the property is locked whenever I leave. I’m also happy to bring in mail, put bins out, water plants and complete other small household jobs while you’re away.

Dog walking:
I’m happy to provide walks of around 30–60 minutes depending on your dog’s age, fitness and normal routine. I enjoy walking around Geelong’s local parks, walking tracks, waterfront areas and other dog-friendly spaces, but I’m also happy to stick to your dog’s usual route if that’s what they know best.

Home visits:
For home visits, I can generally spend around 30–60 minutes with your pet. This can include feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, playtime, company and a short walk if required. I can also collect mail and water plants during visits.

I’m comfortable following instructions for basic medications, such as tablets or medication added to food, provided the owner gives me clear directions. I don’t offer professional grooming or dog training, but I’m happy to do basic brushing and reinforce any commands or routines your dog already knows.

My experience:
Having my own Labrador has given me plenty of hands-on experience with feeding, walking, exercise, routines and general dog care. I’ve also looked after other people’s dogs in their homes while they’ve been away, including managing their normal routines, walks and care while also looking after the property.

What appeals to me most about pet sitting is getting to spend time with animals while giving owners the reassurance that both their pets and their home are being genuinely looked after. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your dog, so I’m also very happy to send regular photos and updates while you’re away.

I’m based around the Geelong area and have easy access to plenty of parks, walking tracks, beaches and dog-friendly areas. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s individual routine and needs before any booking to make sure we’re a good fit.
