About Jevon

Hello! My name is Jevon Leif Anmay Halim, and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Animal Behaviour at Flinders University. I am in my second year, second semester of a three-year degree, where I am learning about animal behaviour, welfare, learning theory, and the relationship between animals and people. My studies have also given me a strong understanding of canine body language, allowing me to recognise signs of stress, excitement, fear, or discomfort and respond appropriately to help dogs feel safe and comfortable.

Although I have not worked professionally with animals, I have experience caring for birds and hamsters throughout my childhood and have also spent time caring for dogs and cats. My love for dogs began when I regularly spent time with my grandparents' dog during school holidays. Building that bond sparked my interest in animals and eventually inspired me to study Animal Behaviour at university.

Safety is always my top priority during every walk. I will ensure that dogs are securely fitted with their collar or harness before leaving and remain attentive to their surroundings throughout the walk. If an unexpected situation arises, such as encountering an unfamiliar dog, heavy traffic, or a stressful environment, I will stay calm, assess the situation carefully, and prioritise the dog's safety by creating distance or choosing a quieter route when needed. If I am walking a nervous or shy dog, I will remain patient and allow them to move at a pace they are comfortable with.

I understand that every dog responds differently to new people and environments, so I will avoid rushing interactions and pay close attention to their body language. My goal is to build trust by creating a calm and positive walking experience while always prioritising their comfort and wellbeing. I am comfortable walking one or two small to medium-sized dogs at a time, provided they can be managed safely and comfortably together. My priority is to ensure that every dog receives my full attention while remaining safe and comfortable throughout the walk. If I feel that walking the dogs separately would be the safer option, I will always discuss this with the owner and prioritise the wellbeing of their pets. If a dog appears unwell or is injured during a walk, I will remain calm, ensure they are safe, and contact the owner immediately so we can determine the best course of action.

My greatest strengths are that I am patient, responsible, observant, and eager to learn. I understand that every dog has its own personality, routine, and comfort level. I take the time to pay attention to a dog's body language and behaviour, so I can provide a safe, positive, and enjoyable walking experience. As an Animal Behaviour student, I value using positive interactions, consistency, and calm handling to help dogs feel comfortable.

I currently offer 30-minute dog walking services. My goal is to provide dogs with safe exercise, mental stimulation, and companionship while giving owners peace of mind. I am happy to follow your dog's usual walking routine, preferred pace, and any instructions you provide regarding commands, equipment, or other important needs. Clear communication with pet owners is important to me because every dog is unique.

I am comfortable walking friendly, well-socialised dogs and believe that understanding each dog's individual needs helps create the best experience for both the dog and the owner. My availability is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons. I understand that every dog has its own personality and energy level. Whether your dog enjoys a relaxed stroll or a more active walk, I will adapt to their pace while making sure they remain comfortable and engaged. I will adapt to their pace while making sure they remain comfortable and engaged. I also believe that good communication with pet owners is essential. After each walk, I am happy to provide an update on how your dog did, including their behaviour, energy level, toilet breaks, and anything else I think you should know.

I look forward to meeting you and your dog and providing a reliable, caring, and professional walking service while continuing to develop my practical skills in animal behaviour. My goal is not only to give your dog enjoyable exercise, but also to ensure they return home feeling happy, safe, and well cared for.
