About Jessica
Hi fellow animal lovers! I'm Jess, a Biomedicine student who recently moved away from home and my dogs, rabbit and cats who misses being around animals. Growing up alongside pets and caring for family and friends' dogs, cats, rabbits (and my cousin's ferret once!) has given me extensive joyous and practical animal experience with different ages, personalities and care needs. I'd love to transfer this knowledge and passion to thoroughly and thoughtfully support your pet.
I take the time and care to adapt to each pet's uniquely beautiful personality and routine. I genuinely enjoy and have succeeded in supporting furry friends - whether
playful and energetic, reserved and shy, or requiring patience, reassurance and extra care - to feel comfortable and secure when owners are away. With my weekly Vet clinic volunteering experience, I've developed comprehensive skills in animal handling, walking and caring for medically and temperament-diverse animals. I am comfortable administering oral and topical medications as required, and following specific care instructors provided by owners.
I offer 30-60min dog walking (or running if that’s more their pace!), house-sitting overnight for short or extended multi-night durations, and one or twice a day trips of an hour care minimum of snuggles, feeding, walks and playtime. In alignment with my experience and passions, I'm keen to take care of dogs of all sizes, as well as cats and small animals like rabbits or ferrets!
I'm based in Parkville and happy to commute anywhere accessible within a reasonable distance by public transport. I'm available 24/7 until the end of July thanks to the Uni break, and from there, for earlier morning, later evening/overnight, and full Saturday-Monday care.
In the unlikely event of an emergency, I will prioritise your pet's safety and wellbeing by contacting you immediately, seeking veterinary assistance if required, and providing updates every step of the way. A concrete example of when I provided this comfort, communication and supervision was helping care for a travelling friend's Jack Russell during the immediate emergency intervention, and subsequent monitoring and recovery, after a snakebite.
I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every animal as if it were my own. I'll make sure your pet feels safe, well cared for and happy while your away with whatever your pet loves - playtime, long walks/runs, cuddles or reassuring, calm presence. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members :)
