I’m Amelia, a 30-year-old animal lover with a passion for caring for furry friends. Originally from New Zealand, I moved to Melbourne a couple of years ago with my fluffy daughter (cat) Lulu

A Little About Me

I have over 6 years of experience as a pet sitter and as a volunteer at SPCA New Zealand. Growing up surrounded by animals, I developed a deep love and respect for them, and today I’m a proud cat mum to Lulu, my 9-year-old tabby who bravely made the move to Australia with me.

During my time at the SPCA, I worked in the vet care section, where I gained extensive experience caring for sick animals, including cats, dogs, and rabbits. I’m comfortable administering medication, whether it’s pilling cats, giving insulin injections, or managing more complex care like feeding tubes. Lulu herself has chronic pancreatitis and requires daily medication, so I understand the importance of providing attentive, compassionate care to animals with medical needs.

I have experience handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments—from large, strong pullers to tiny, sassy chihuahuas—and I’m confident in tailoring my approach to suit their unique personalities.

Services I Offer

Cat Sitting
I’ll visit your home to care for your cat(s) while you’re away, ensuring they receive plenty of love and attention. Each visit includes feeding, litter maintenance, and playtime or cuddles (depending on their preferences). I’m also happy to water plants, collect mail, and provide daily updates with photos or videos. I’m very observant and will alert you promptly to any changes in behaviour, eating, or toileting. Visits typically last 30–60 minutes.

Dog Walking
I offer walks tailored to your dog’s needs, with most walks lasting 30–45 minutes. I carefully consider factors like weather, location, and breed—especially on warmer days—to ensure their safety and comfort.

Dog Sitting
I’m available to care for your dog in your home for a few hours, providing feeding, playtime, and a walk if needed.

Note:
Due to having a cat of my own, I’m unable to offer overnight stays.

Transport and Proximity

I rely on my bike for transport and don’t have a car, so I only take bookings within a 5km radius of Brunswick (Rose Street) to ensure I can reach your pet promptly and reliably.

Availability

I work Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. I’m in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and work from home on other weekdays. If you’re located nearby (within easy walking or cycling distance), I can sometimes pop in during my lunch break on WFH days. Otherwise, I’m available from 5pm.
