We’re two pet-loving Kiwis who have recently made the move from New Zealand to Brisbane! We’ve been using Pawshake in NZ for the past four years and have really enjoyed getting to know all the different dogs and families we’ve cared for. We love animals, being outdoors and exploring, so looking after a dog is something that fits naturally into our lifestyle.

We have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies through to older dogs who need a little extra patience and care. Our longest Pawshake stay was one month, where we provided daily oral medication, two walks a day and plenty of company. We’re also comfortable with dogs who need crate training or have specific routines and individual needs.

Our usual walks are around 30–45 minutes, depending on your dog’s age, energy level and needs. We’re happy to follow your dog’s normal routine and make sure they get plenty of exercise, attention and outdoor time. We can also administer oral medication as required.

We’re both working professionals — one a teacher and one an engineer — so while we’re sometimes able to work from home, our availability is generally best on weekends and school holidays. When we do need to leave the house, dogs would generally not be left alone for more than an hour.

We currently live in an apartment in Bowen Hills, so we’re best suited to smaller dogs who are comfortable in an apartment environment. We’re lucky to have the river walk right across the road, as well as a large soccer field and park nearby, making regular toilet breaks and walks easy.
