Hi, I’m Ella! I’m a casual keeper at Adelaide Zoo and have been pet sitting through Mad Paws for years. Animals are a huge part of my life, both at work and at home, where I have my own dog, Cody. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pets with someone, and I want you to feel comfortable knowing they’re being properly cared for while you’re away. Alongside my zoo work, I’ve worked in vet clinics and doggy daycare, and I have a Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care. I’ve cared for lots of different personalities and enjoy getting to know what makes each animal comfortable, whether they love attention or need a little space to settle in. I can help with feeding, fresh water, playtime, walks and keeping your pet’s space clean, depending on the service we arrange. I’m happy to discuss care for dogs, cats and smaller pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs. We’ll go through their usual routine, any specific needs and the length of visits before confirming a booking. I’m respectful of your home and always follow your instructions. I check that doors, gates and fences are secure, keep anything potentially harmful out of reach, and make sure your pets are safely inside or in their designated area before leaving. I follow your usual routines, double-check locks and keep keys secure. I’ll always ask if there are any little extras you need done while you’re away, like watering plants or putting the bins out. If anything seems wrong with your pet or around the house, I’ll contact you straight away. With my background in zookeeping and working in vet clinics, I understand how important it is to get medication right. I ask owners for clear written instructions, check the dose and timing, and keep a record once it’s been given. I discuss each pet’s needs beforehand to make sure I’m comfortable providing the care they need, and contact the owner or vet if I have any concerns. My zoo roster varies, so I’ll be upfront about my availability and any time I’ll be away during your booking. I’d love to meet you and your pets beforehand to make sure we’re a good fit.
