About Dominika
Hi there!
My name is Dominika, and I’m excited to be offering pet-sitting services here in Melbourne. I’ve recently moved from London, where I worked as a pet sitter alongside my career as an Animal Welfare Scientist and, most recently, as a Policy and Science Officer for the RSPCA. I hold an undergraduate degree in Bioveterinary Science and a Master’s degree in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare. I've also had pets all my life so I truly understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for them.
Before joining the RSPCA, I worked as a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant in a small animal practice. This role gave me hands-on experience with a wide range of animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, ferrets, and rodents of all breeds, ages, and health conditions. I assisted vets and nurses during consults and medical procedures and cared for our inpatients, always making sure they felt safe and comfortable in a new environment. I’m confident in administering most medications, carrying out basic health checks and grooming, feeding, and caring for both very young pets and seniors.
I believe that every animal has their own unique personality, needs, and preferences, and this is the approach I bring to every pet I look after. As a proud owner of a handsome four-year-old domestic shorthair cat named Marcel (who’s currently staying with my family back in the UK), I know how valuable it is to find someone competent, reliable, and trustworthy who will care for your pet just as they would their own. With years of experience across different settings and species, you can rest assured your pet will be in the best hands possible. I’ve received numerous five-star reviews and wonderful feedback from pet owners, which I’m incredibly proud of. Examples of pets I’ve cared for, the positive experiences we’ve shared and the reviews I've received can be seen in my photo gallery.
Please let me know if your pet has any special needs, health issues, allergies, dietary preferences, phobias, or little quirks. This will help me make sure they get the best possible care and feel happy and comfortable while they’re with me.
Please note that my listed rates apply to pets with standard care needs. For pets who need a little extra attention — such as those with medical or behavioural challenges, high energy levels, or dogs requiring more than two longer walks (not toilet breaks) a day rates may vary to reflect the additional time and care involved. Slightly higher rates may also apply for bookings outside my usual travel area or over holidays incl. bank holidays to help cover transport and time costs. Once you’ve sent a booking request, I’ll confirm all details and final rates after our initial chat so everything is clear before we proceed.
I’m more than happy to arrange a meet & greet in person or have a chat over the phone well in advance — it’s a great way for you to tell me more about your pet, their habits, and your expectations.
Thank you for considering me as a sitter for your pet! 🙂
